Always remember when he took his position in goal.  Taking a few strides along the goal line and jumping to touch the crossbar. He wasn’t the biggest!  But agree our best.

About 5'9" in his studs.

He's a bit shorter now though !

After touching cross bar he would do same to penalty spot, " gibbo gibbo   gibbo gibbo gibbo"

All accompanied by a meteor shower of toilet rolls from the east End!

Hes probably still better than him now at his age!

Just watched the highlights of Man U and Brentford, poor keeping all round. The Luton keeper gets a hand to Spurs half hit shot and it still goes in. I do wonder if our regular doom mongers ever watch any other teams. Btw I'm sure Cornick would have tucked away that tap in for Luton?

Ah Robin Stubbs. Can remember him playing up front with Jim Fryatt  at Torquay, rumour was Stubbs was shagging big Jims Mrs and they had a scrap, Remember that Stubbs had a black eye and  Fryatt left soon after.!!!!

Do you mean Max the famed barber of Southmead Rd, who did a mean basin cut,

I used to dread having a haircut at Max's when I was a kid. Didn't matter what I said when he asked what I wanted, I always came out with a short back and sides and a mop on top.

Happy days.

Great keeper.  Find memories of his heroics in goal .  Most of the time the playing surface was just mud , I wonder how goal keepers could cope with those conditions now.

Great Guy too. He used to take our team for training on Friday evenings at AG to earn a few quid. Always joined in the five a side on the carpark
