What alternative reality are they living in? They deserve all the opprobrium they are going to get. They should not be welcome at City games going forwards. Didn't think that they would actually do it. You won’t see Steve at a City home game…out of personal choice, forget fan reaction.
Popular Post YorksRed
Been supporting the club nearly 50 years (yikes) and always thought that as a supporter you should generally “support” the club. I’ve always tried to speak positively of the Lansdowns too for what they have done. I am furious and appalled by this decision and the treatment of Nigel. We finally, after many years, had a serious, experienced manager who talked sense, who had got on and changed the culture, trimmed costs, met the financial requirements, developed and sold on young players and clearly moved the whole club forward in all areas. There was a clear plan for the first time that I could see for many years. We are now a club without a CEO, without a strong and visible leader and now without a manager. What a mess. Nigel managed the club through a really difficult period, with huge constraints and didn’t complain at any stage. I am very grateful for all he has done but am now also mourning what perhaps could have been. 28
Buster Footman's T shirt
Unfortunately we'll aware that they own the club. SL has made it clear its his club. Obviously they will be there. Looks like we have to lump it. Don't have to like it or not make our feelings known though

RSW8
Gutless timing as well on a Sunday to give it maximum time until we play again in the hope people’s emotions subside before the next home game.

Popular Post KURTZ
Injury ravaged squad. Players giving everything. Promoting academy players like never before. Not being financially backed after selling our best players. The majority of the fans being behind him, and yet they still sack him. The sacking was not about football, it was about the Landsdown's not being able to have an Alpha male manager who has the balls to say it as it is. Same happened with Cotterill. Time for a change at the top. 25

MaccRed
Not happy with this decision and looking for any possible positives. All I can come up with is Leicester sacked Pearson after he laid the groundwork and Ranieri took the plaudits. Just need to find our Ranieri!! Sturgess
Absolute disgrace and makes a complete mockery of any claims about ownership wanting success. Lip service. Nige, with a fraction of financial backing was the closest we’d get to achieving success. Instead, it seems our esteemed ownership don’t like being challenged and are after conformity and the mediocrity it brings. Just waiting for the club to do a media push now of “get behind the squad”. Do one Lansdowns, bridges are burnt. Nige - thank you for your efforts. Edited October 29, 2023 by Sturgess
JP Hampton
Trouble is this is all too believable!! It was obvious from the lack of comments or praise previously of Pearson they were just biding their time. Good luck Nigel Pearson. You’ve given us some great football and developed an obvious team spirit that’s been lacking for several seasons. Despite terrible odds your integrity, but above all your honesty, is to be admired. I for one will genuinely miss you and your obvious flair for leadership.

City Rocker
I'm honestly struggling to believe the powers-that-be at my club have done this. It's not what we do and clearly not what the fans wanted. And it is our club. Sad day
T R
How the hell does John Lansdown expect us to win promotion when they sell our best player and the money disappears plus 12 injuries. They haven't backed him to achieve promotion. This is all down to the owner the board and bristol sport. Something is corrupt there.

myol'man
I thought sacking Barton after a home draw with Stevenage was crazy, but sacking Pearson after losing at Cardiff with only half a fit team is utter madness. Has something in the water affected the owners of the football clubs in Bristol. They both seem to have misread the fans. Lansdown jnr. or snr. will have to produce a stunning appointment to overcome this one. Lose at home next week and Ashton Gate will become toxic

Thank you, Nige, for all you have done for our club and very good wishes for the future.

I think his replacement has been getting picked the last few weeks.
