redkev
I thought it was a thread about new training facilities Jon had set up to stop our injuries after that bad man Rennie had mistreated them all on a serious note that would mean so much to them kids well done city and all other teams that do that sort of thing
steviestevieneville
Is this the first time the players have visited for a while ? Great to see the kids enjoyed it so much. You can never praise people who work in the care industry with kids enough . They do an amazing job as do of course the parents.

MrRedRobin
So many community based things this club does so well like this and the away food delivering thing. One thing we do really well as a club, long may it continue.

cidered abroad
City players have been regular visitors to Charlton Farm for a long time. Joe Bryan reputedly went there a couple of days a week. Christmas is when they get some publicity. 1
BigTone
Lovely to see and brings a tear to the eye. Only downside was our defensive frailties in the table football !!!

RoystonFoote'snephew
These are the things that restore my faith in humanity and remind me that there are more people in the world that care than those that don't. I'm always in awe of those who give so freely of their time and make a real contribution to children's lives. Quite typically Scotty was throwing himself into the cause again.
Ska Junkie
That's a choker, kids always get to me. It's why I don't go to Great Ormond St in my job. Very nice touch City, well done. Some things are far more important than football.

These included people that couldn't even eat. They were fed through pegs in their stomach. Obviously the place was understaffed so she had to do cooking and cleaning on top of her duties. Days and night shifts. She loved it.When she wanted to buy a house with her boyfriend she couldn't get a mortgage on her earnings. She had to leave the care home and go selling home insurance over the phone as it paid more.Absolutely shocking. 1

Slacker
Thanks for both of your replies. I am indeed proud of her.I am not one for bigging up my family but she was very good at doing a tough job that I certainly couldn't of done.It was a job that gave her a lot of purpose and satisfaction too.A real shame and I am sure there are many other similar stories.

Slacker
Again, thank you both for your kind words. The saddest part is that she went from a very poorly paid job to a job that really didn't pay that much more but was enough to satisfy the building society that agreed to give her the loan for a mortgage.
