ashton_fan
Came across this film clip from British Pathe. It was the Gloucestser Cup Final held at Eastville on April 10th which Rovers won 1-0. The film isn't that good with sections upside down for some reason, I'm surprised it was filmed if it was Gloucester Cup but maybe it was more important in those days? It is indeed the Gloucester Cup final of that year, which Rovers won 1-0. Always worth reading the description under the footage

One of the earliest is this. 1920. It shows a Billy Wedlock leading out the City team at the Gate against Cardiff. Right at end of footage. https://cutt.ly/SwGm2QK1 https://www.britishpathe.com/asset/ Edited January 1 by spudski

Offside
Fascinating to watch. Blimey, goalkeepers certainly took a beating in those days!
spudski
This is some great footage that shows what the ground looked like clearly in 1947. https://cutt.ly/vwGQye5B

There doesn't appear to be anything down the side where the Williams stand was/ Lansdown is now, was that due to bombing in the war, or was it just like that originally? AppyDAZE
The keepers used to have to be hard as **** back in those days. Fart on one of them nowadays and it's a free kick. Edited January 1 by AppyDAZE
