GrahamC
Pretty sure when we went for Downing & Simpson he was also an England U20 manager at the same time? Third consecutive appointment for them who is a Scouser, of course no chance it would ever be Barton. Edited January 5 by GrahamC
petehinton
Is interesting that he will get the ‘new, exciting young manager’ spiel as he’s been at the FA/youth roles for much of his coaching career…yet he’s 47. International role experience, or number 2/3 at a PL club, or even both, is clearly flavour of the month for EFL clubs this season, and maybe even seasons to come. Also been assistant to Gerrard in Saudi so very shrewd to move on, as the Saudis are now realising that he makes Frank Lampard look like Guardiola.
