Lewis Thomas extends contract until 2025 - finally the contract news we were all hoping for!

Recommended Posts

HWR to be released is the word on the street, and even if it wasn’t, most fans would probably lean towards that.

Think he’s a no3, a cheap option to provide cover with a bit of EFL experience.

He allows us to go two ways in the summer:

  1. replace Bajic with one of the young ones
  2. Replace Bajic with a true competitor for Max

Of course those aren’t the only options, but the ones I see.

+++++

On an aside, Thomas himself might’ve improved whilst he’s here also, so despite having played 49 senior games in EFL related comps, he might be more capable than any of us know.

Ive no idea what the thinking is, but he still has a contract, probably on a good salary too, and so does hwr and bajic, why not move all 3 if them on if they are never likely to play and get someone in to properly challenge max?

I’d be amazed if he’s on anything more than £1,500 a week tbh

Wish I earnt £80k a year to not do my job

What do you think is “his job”?

Pearson signed him (clearly on the recommendation of Pat Mountain), Manning has kept him on.

Suggests to me that both thought he was doing “his job”.

Pure speculation - but sometimes when we do a load of ‘mini announcements’ on contracts (ie youngsters and 3rd choice keepers) we have a big announcement to round it all out. So there’s a chance something is coming tonight.

Or the club may just be having an admin day, who knows.
