McCrorie missed how long after signing, half a season?? Bailey Wright, Sykes, Diedhiou retrospective bans in varied circs, all unusual and unlucky. You think we are a lucky club @Super ?? Alessandro
The flak Ashton got on here (including from me) Then off he goes to back to back promotions. The biggest kick in the teeth and reality check. All those fans on here who back the Lansdown’s to the hilt…just think about Mark Ashton celebrating tonight what we should have done years ago. Oh it is an insane total for sure ,3 sides on 90 plus is an exceptionally intense and high standard top 3 race, looked like Southampton could make it 4 and they do merit a fair bit of credit, but lucky or good I suspect the injury record assists them, continuity- consistency, it all very much feeds in. I'd forgotten about Rolls as Pete mentioned but we had our very worst injury season with him at the helm. Davefevs
At least one relegated club ain’t going up! Big repercussions for Leeds and Southampton if they don’t go up. Suspect Martin will lose his job. Norwich last season of PPs. West Brom’s PPs finished last season. Hull the outsider, their PPs finished years ago!

We're waiting for our lucky season, and to be capable of taking advantage. I agree - you have to be in a position to take advantage when the cards fall in your favour. That's part of the skill of managing a team, running a football club, whatever. I'm not confident we are or really have been for a long time. Luck is hugely underestimated in success in general. Maybe we've had a couple in semi recent memory - after 41 games we were 2nd in 07/08 and after 24 games we were 2nd in 17/18. Neither time did we properly capitalise on it and they were both followed by a descent. Both times we were riding a bit of a crest of a wave but couldn't keep it going. Ashton was here obviously in 17/18 before we came unstuck, and has now done the job with Ipswich. His time here overall though is a net negative, as it was at the two clubs before us (from fan opinion anyway). So has he learnt from that and now got it right? Dumb luck / stopped clock being right twice a day? Did we hamstring him somehow and he'd have done it here otherwise? We'll never know! Ashton and Werhun were not the issue were they. Do you really think he appointed LJ? No chance! The Johnson family obsession is what cost us. We should have stopped being stubborn over the Palace semi final in 2008 and appointed Warnock in 2016. We would have gone up.

I can remember some team thinking they'd avoided relegation to the conference by winning their penultimate game away, even laid on a party as I recall !
