Sky continually showing that smug **** in the stand is really testing my feelings of goodwill towards Ipswich.

The smug slimy tosser is the sole issue I have with Ipswich really.

Still hope somehow Huddersfield look for a miracle, albeit the GD means they are almost.gone.

One of those moments this evening where he needs to look in the mirror and ask "maybe it's me?"

McKenna has won 74 of his 130 games in charge at Ipswich, losing only 20.

I know he's Irish, but i think there's a lot more to it than luck.

That’s incredible been Tinnion said he only won 2 of his first 87 games! 🤣🤣🤣

FFF

Front Foot Football.

All about attacking intent.  Didn’t change his subs that were ready when they conceded.

GK:

Hladky- 45 Starts

DF:

Clarke- 25 Starts plus 10 Sub Appearances

Burgess- 37 Starts plus 1 Sub Appearance

Woolfenden- 39 Starts, plus 1 Sub Appearance

Davis- 42 Starts

Luongo- 36 Starts, plus 6 Sub Appearances

Morsy- 41 Starts

Broadhead- 29 Starts, plus 9 Sub Appearances

Burns- 30 Starts, plus 4 Sub Appearances

Chaplin- 41 Starts, plus 2 Sub Appearances

Hirst- 23 Starts, plus 2 Sub Appearances

Did their loanees get many injuries either? Twine was out for 2 months after 1 game 1 Goal, dunno if Moore, Travis etc had much time out either.

You run this season 19 more times, you won't get this likely outcome for Ipswich, 1 in 20 IMO.

Without doubt, Ipswich had their luckiest season. But they did everything right to take advantage. We're waiting for our lucky season, and to be capable of taking advantage.

You're clearly not looking to give them much credit. Pretty lame to say they've been lucky with injuries. 93 points is an insane total.

Think shade under 80% in starts.alone! Will check it all again.

We aren't a lucky club let's be honest. McCrorie missed how long after signing, half a season??

Bailey Wright, Sykes, Diedhiou retrospective bans in varied circs, all unusual and unlucky.

You think we are a lucky club @Super ?? This should be good..

The flak Ashton got on here (including from me)

Then off he goes to back to back promotions.

The biggest kick in the teeth and reality check.

All those fans on here who back the Lansdown’s to the hilt…just think about Mark Ashton celebrating tonight what we should have done years ago.

Another team to add to that list….

The bottom two have a lot of respect for me, Probert done a good job and that’s been carried on well at City and Gilmartin always came across well on Robins TV and did a good job as one of the academy coaches

What Slarti said.

Oh it is an insane total for sure ,3 sides on 90 plus is an exceptionally intense and high standard top 3 race, looked like Southampton could make it 4 and they do merit a fair bit of credit, but lucky or good I suspect the injury record assists them, continuity- consistency, it all very much feeds in.

I'd forgotten about Rolls as Pete mentioned but we had our very worst injury season with him at the helm.

That may be down to the 'head coach' and too much time on the grass. God forbid, don't give the players time off in the international break....

Struggled the first two seasons didn’t he? From what people have said on here they have spent a fortune to get up into the championship, then a bit more on top to get into the prem riding that wave of momentum.

At least one relegated club ain’t going up!

Big repercussions for Leeds and Southampton if they don’t go up.  Suspect Martin will lose his job.

Norwich last season of PPs.

West Brom’s PPs finished last season.

Hull the outsider, their PPs finished years ago!

I agree - you have to be in a position to take advantage when the cards fall in your favour. That's part of the skill of managing a team, running a football club, whatever. I'm not confident we are or really have been for a long time. Luck is hugely underestimated in success in general.

Maybe we've had a couple in semi recent memory - after 41 games we were 2nd in 07/08 and after 24 games we were 2nd in 17/18. Neither time did we properly capitalise on it and they were both followed by a descent. Both times we were riding a bit of a crest of a wave but couldn't keep it going.

Ashton was here obviously in 17/18 before we came unstuck, and has now done the job with Ipswich. His time here overall though is a net negative, as it was at the two clubs before us (from fan opinion anyway). So has he learnt from that and now got it right? Dumb luck / stopped clock being right twice a day? Did we hamstring him somehow and he'd have done it here otherwise? We'll never know!

Are you that convinced on Martin going? Saints fans really like him and with assets they can sell they will be active in market this summer.

Ashton and Werhun were not the issue were they. Do you really think he appointed LJ? No chance! The Johnson family obsession is what cost us. We should have stopped being stubborn over the Palace semi final in 2008 and appointed Warnock in 2016. We would have gone up.
