REDOXO
Dear Jim For years I have despised Leeds and everything they stood for under Don Revie. However I have many friends who are Leeds fans (none of them from Leeds, or even Yorkshire). However as I was brought up around Pompey fans I have a healthy disdain for Southampton. Could you please fix it for me to let them both lose and have Bristol City promoted instead. Many Thanks OXO PS Were you not a ferrit worrier too? 2 1 2

2015
Hopefully Leeds win. Never taken much to Southampton. Stealing academy players from us for absolute years, an arrogant fanbase and an arrogant Manager.

Red Army 75
Normally have a preference in these finals, but not bothered who wins this. Reckon Southampton might nick it though
Lanterne Rouge
No preference really but I suppose Leeds just so`s we don`t donate six points to them next season. 5
Swede
Leeds; purely on the basis that saints will be an easier opponent next season. Mind you, the meltdown would be extremely funny if dirty leeds fell apart again.

Swede
I meant to add that Farke is respectful whereas Martin is a grade A dick.

exAtyeoMax
I’d rather go to Elland Road though. I’m not that fussed so can’t decide.
handsofclay
Don't like either side for some of the reasons given above so like the OP I wish neither was getting promoted. However, I have accepted that one of them will be. So, I will be watching the match knowing that one of them is guaranteed to FAIL. And I will enjoy witnessing the misery and meltdown of the supporters of the team that won't be returning to the Prem. Bring it on.
harvey54
Leeds for me. Better football. Old school ground and fans.
LondonBristolian
Bit torn on this one. I think Leeds deserve it and don’t think Southampton do but I also fancy another away day at Leeds more than I fancy another away day at Southampton.

A lot of folks seem to have a real hatred for Russell Martin. Can anyone explain why? I quite like him personally so it would be good to understand where the dislike for him derives.

I get that most managers don’t but he does it in a way that really bugs me. So there!

So it’s just a personal ‘impression’ kinda thing? From what I gather, he’s actually quite a lovely and generous bloke. I just don’t understand the hate for him
1team
A 250 million squad v a 300 million squad. The real winners are the Premier league as either way they have a 100+ million less to pay out in parachute payments.

I just don’t understand the hate for him Post-match interview after the game at St Mary's he gave us no credit for what I thought was a decent first half performance, but then also had a pop at the Southampton-based journo, who was just doing his job, which for me is poor form. Maybe I'm judging him unfairly. I have subsequently listened to a couple of his pressers (after wins!) where he comes across fine.

I think I read that money the EPL saves goes straight back into their coffers too. So money ring-fenced for the EFL (for a club playing in the Championship) instead goes back to the EPL. So it is in the EPL's interests for relegated teams to come straight back up.

Yep they would love the same 3 up 3 down cycle year on year. Initially I was annoyed by Ipswich but now I applaud them as they have leaked a bit of wee onto the EPL bonfire.
SecretSam
Dirty Leeds and their self-important fans, versus Southampton, as supported by that pint-sized shitpot Sunak. Praying for a meteor strike.

Coming out by himself without his squad to clap fans before the teams come out, and always making sure he’s the last one at FT left on his own taking in applause without his team too. That aside, it’s much better for us and the league as a whole if Leeds go up. Much stronger side, bigger club, and makes for a weaker championship with them out of it.

Not sure why we’d want opposition managers to be complimentary about us. Why should he give a fluck that we managed to keep them to 0-0 in the first half. He’s focussed on what his team are doing. For me, that almost shows an arrogance on OUR part, not in his, wanting him to give us recognition because we stifled his side for 45 minutes.
