How We Might Win A Penalty

Recommended Posts

although we had 2 clear cut penalties turned down today we've only got ourselves

to blame,we're not going to get a penalty if we keep getting on the refs back every 2 mins, for the next home game can we have a referee friendly game where we dont keep caliing him a ##nk*er every 2 mins, then maybe just maybe we might get a penalty.

When the referee is poor (like today) it's pretty difficult not to get wound up and voice your anger - particularly when everyone's already frustrated by the performance of the team anyway. Referees get abuse at every ground from every set of fans - it shouldn't be a factor in whether they give penalties or not and I hope that most are professional enough to not be swayed by the crowd.

How might we win a penalty - easy, get fouled in the box unlike today by trying to dive and look stupid. Refs are there to ref the game in an unbiassed fashion and have nothing to gain by siding with one team or another. If anything he was good to City today by not sending Doherty off for his continual bad tackles and moaning - shame he stayed on the pitch because he insisted on giving the ball away every time he got it - nothing new there then!
