Just after Tinman took over I heard a story that I didnt believe at the time but actually links into what Footychik says below. There is definately turmoil behind the scenes at AG. A number of Bristol-born senior players are more interested in their golf handicaps and socialising than training. They dont want to play for Tinman because they believe he has bum licked his way to the top job. This has come from someone in the know who deals with the players on a daily basis. This needs sorting out now, Tinman would probably be a good coach but is he strong enough to deal with his ex-peers ??

... not for nothing have we earned the "cosy club" tag ...

... then either they go or he does!

If these rumours about player unrest are true,it can surely be no suprise to Steve Landsdown that this is so.

When anyone in virtually any job gets promoted from the ranks it can cause problems with the workers.Resentments, especially if its thought that the promoted person "arse licked" their way to the job.

It takes a very skilled man manager to deal with and overcome such difficulties and the question is does BT have those skills? The fact that he's been at the club 11 years and played over 500 games for City counts for nothing if he's not respected by his former peers.Lets not forget that BT was never made team Captain by any of the managers he played for so maybe he doesn't have the leadership qualities required and when the workers aren't on your side there are only two options left - either you go or the unsettled element of the workers are made redundant.

From the post match interview it seems as if BT is going with the later option which means that some of the clubs best and most experienced players will not get a start unless their attitude changes. It also means that the City starting 11 on Monday won't have been selected on ability, skill and merit but beacause the first choice players are not behind the manager.

The whole situation is a can of worms and ultimately no-one will win and it'll be the club and the fans that suffer.

Over to you Steve..

It is surely a mess at the moment.

Tinnions comments could do more harm than good.

He distanced himself from the players over some time last season (so it appears)

I still believe that the cosy option was wrong & that 'fresh blood' should have come in at the top.

All this stability #### - if the senior players aren't performing then can we put a successful team of youth players?

Its all very depressing at the moment.

So according to you then:-

Steve Phillips, Matt Hill, Tommy Doherty, Danny Coles

are the trouble makers?

If true, get rid and try some non-Bristol born players.

I can't disagree with that statement. This has been spotted by many players over the course of the last eleven years.

SL has been at the club long enough. He must have realised the situation as it's been staring him in the face for as long as he has been a member of the board.

If and its all a big if, that all these rumours that the players have decided not play of Tins are true, then I find it an utter disgrace and quite remarkable that anyone who supports BCFC could side with the players on this matter!! If they can not be professional enough to play for the manager, then get rid. They should be giving 110% regardless of who is in charge, regardless of how he got the job. If its true its hardly going to dispell any myths that the young players at BCFC are over paid, spoilt, lazy and arrogant brats that have had it far too easy for far too long!! Anybody that has been to Fuschia on a Sat night will know. In my opinion, it would appear that they are using this 'brown nosed' his way to the job as a smokescreen due to the fact that Tinnion has probably got the players working a lot harder then the previous manager had ever done and is trying to rectify the culture that was allowed to develop by the previous manager. The simple fact is they do not like it and resent this more than the fact that he go the job and how! Its no longer such a cooshy number!!

If anybody has to go, then its the players and not the manager. And that would include the 'better' players because lets face it, these 'better' players have hardly set the league alight for the last 5 years, let alone now!! If these players do not want to play for Tinnion, what makes anyone think they will want to play for a manager that makes them work hard and trys to change the player culture at this football club in the future! If they are rotten to the core then let Tinnion wean them out as that will provide a much better longer term solution then allowing this player power to evolve and thrive as it appears to be at the moment!

Of course, it could just be that Tinnions tactics have been pants at best. The problem is too many of us claim to be in the know and for those of us not in the know, all we can do is speculate and let our over active imaginations run riot!!

I don't get a vote when the management above me changes I just get on with my job. By the same token I don't begrudge those who want to move on and up the management ladder. Saying that, this is another classic obstacle in taking the player-manager option.

I think players not performing on purpose is disgusting. Any person who works in a real job has moments in their life when the boss is not to your liking. You get on with what you are paid to do.

Quite possibly BT knows what the idiots get up to on their time off.

Almost anyone with eyes and ears can tell you what they get up to. There are a couple of Bristol born players who are still at the club who need to wake up fast.

First fans to get some digital photos? It really is about time we took this into our own hands because hiding behind the manager and then not performing whilst continuing to behave like a team of pub players off the field has to stop.

The players have plenty of ability, but no application.

If all or even some of this stuff about some of the players is true, then Tins has major problems. He must have known about these players when he took on the job, surely he would have spoken to them individually to see just what their attitude to him and the new season would be. If he had any idea that a major rebuilding was going to have to take place then why even suggest that this year was going to be a promotion year. The view of the majority of supporters I reckon, was that this was this was going to be just that little bit better than "walking in a Wilson wonderland" and up we would go!

Now it looks like there will be a struggle to even reach a comfortable level in League 1, where we can at least look to move up towards the top. Intead we may find ourselves looking into the abyss of "Gas-Land". (assuming their jammy run comes to an end pretty soon).

We just got to get some points, and pretty damn quick. It's never too soon to panic! :Confused13:

Yes but in the same breath if someone was promoted above you who you really did not believe deserved the job or was capable of doing the job would you not question this or be annoyed?

Agreed. We have the players with ability & still probably the strongest squad in our league but if Tinnion can not motivate them for whatever reason he should go.
