'Gosh the Dolman are loud today, I can't hear myself think'

'Please could everyone leave five minutes early, I don't want to watch the game anymore so if you could obscure my view as much as possible that would be grand'

'I can't believe it - (enter random northern team name here)- have sold out the away end again'

Tony Butler showed great pace to win the ball.

Jamie Smith outjumped the forward.

We should forgive the Millwall fans who tore up the seating.

I hope the Gas are winning.

We should have kept Burnell.

Sorry thought of some more.....

I bet Akinbiyi would have scored that

I see the work on the Wedlock Stand has started.

some people around me in the atyeo call woodman woody and goodfellow goody which is strange because when i stayed in a hotel overnight at port vale the players came in the lobby where i was and and i could hear the players calling marc and craig that

"That linesman got his flag up really quickly there and the decison was spot on"

"Oh good, a female assistant referee."

"I'm really glad I didn't just stay in the pub and came down to the gate today!"

And on the Tommy debate, it should be pronounced Doh-erty but said so quick it sounds like Door-tea. Where bit of Ireland I come from (Ulster but not NI!)every other person is called Doherty, and that's how its said there.

Other things you won't hear:

"We always have a great January"

"I was really pleased Rovers won the other week"

"This food is great value for money"

"Ooh, OTI fanzine has nothing about Rovers this week"

"Parkings great in the area, isn't it?"

"I just love the playoffs, me"

"Why don't we opt for a groundshare with Rovers?"

Well if I'm pronouncing the great man's name wrong, I've been doing so for 43 years!

I have always pronounced Atyeo as a 3-syllable word (A-tee-yo) with emphasis on the first syllable, and never heard anyone pronounce it any other way.

As far as I remember, when he was playing, people in the crowd pronounced it that way too, though I was only 13 when he hung up his boots.

Are we all wrong?
