deadratinmycider
I can confirm that this story is featured on the front page of today's WDP and also page 3. Good luck to everyone in court and thanks to Dave L for an excellent piece. ← Can you view this online? has anyone got a link?.
RedUn
While the circumstances seem similar I would say that they are very different. The report Dave L has produced is a well written article with some very serious points being made about people who have not consumed much alcohol. The shef wednesday report is quite tongue in cheek about someone falling over their own feet. ← The encouraging thing is the Owl got off even though he was clearly worse for drink than any of our fans have reported being. Fingers crossed.
BCFC_Dan
Apparently some Stoke fans had the same treatment at West Brom last season and the court found against all of them.
bucksred
Well done Dave, Chesh, for a great piece. Also well done to that Police Sgt whoever you are....I have some faith in the good cop restored to me.
worthyred
Good luck to you all, it's good to see City fans behind each other. Note to Jim, you are the type of policeman this country needs an absolute credit to yourself and your profession, wish there were a lot more like you then these problems wouldn't arise. old spot
Great report. How about getting a job on the evil post? It might make it worth buying again. As for the police sargeant, top work, you have certainly restored a bit of faith in the police for me, which after saturday i thought would be impossible. cheshire_red
Late last night I emailed this story to the Chief Constable of West Midlands Police. I used a professional email address and have already received the following response: Dear Mr Lock The Chief Constable acknowledges receipt of your email dated 27/10/04 and he has asked me to respond on his behalf. The concerns you raised in your email require further enquiries to be conducted by the local Operational Command Unit (OCU) before a substantive response can be made. I have, therefore, forwarded your letter to Chief Superintendent Jewkes at Walsall (H1) Operational Command Unit, and you will be contacted again in due course. Regards Matthew Ward Chief Inspector Staff Officer to the Chief Constable West Midlands Police HQ Email: m.ward@west-midlands.police.uk I had already sent to CS Jewkes so let's see what happens now. ← Further to the above I have now received the following response from Chief Superintendent Jewkes who is the controller of the area that polices Walsall's Bescot Stadium. For an individual to receive such a prompt response is rare and entirely due to the article written by DaveL, the testament's of the witnesses and the pressure that has been applied by Bristol City FC's letter. Now that we know that this is being taken seriously at the very top level I suggest that those that are involved personally should decide how they wish to proceed. --------------------------------------- Dear Sir, Further to you e-mail, forwarded for my attention. I will happily deal with any individual complaints arising from the football match at Walsall FC on Saturday 23rd October, that are forwarded for my attention. I would point out that until any outstanding criminal proceedings are concluded, it would be inappropriate to comment on any individual cases. Kind regards, A.
