City Cult Figure

hows about Jacki and the Gaffer from the 90's / 2000's

I would agree with Jacki as all the fans loved him no matter what he did. The fact he tried to do it was all we cared about. The drinking and socialising made him even more of a hero in most people's eyes.

I prefer to keet the name of John Atyeo for Legend as opposed to cult figure.

Was watching football focus earlier and they were on about club cult figures and i was just wondering who ours would be. I'm assuming it would be John Atyeo but would anyone else challenge him for that title??

Lets make that a resounding NO!.....No other player has come close to achieving ATYEO'S status.

Dariusz Dziekanowski would be my choice for the status as a cult figure, because of his attitude on and off the pitch!!. ;)

Atyeo is a Legend, a Gentleman, and a well respected person.

But how far would you go back to choose any player, who would be up there with John?,

Wedlock?.

Gilligan?.

Fairclough?.

Rodgers?.

Galley?.

There are a lot of Legends who have worn the Red and White of City!!, :me?:

Personally wouldn't nominate Ateyo for this particular award - Cult hero is something a bit different to Legend.

These nominations are for the hardmen, the drinkers, the womanisers etc.... who we should have frowned upon but just loved no matter what.

For me Jacki wins hands down jordan may get a mention and certainly people like Gerry Gow would be right up there in the voting.
