city1uk
Who were the stronger front two pairing we have had in recent years? Taylor - Turner Brooker - Lita Neville - Riley Galley - Garland Atyeo - Clark There are more Ive not mentioned - over to you. Personally, I still remember Bob Taylor with massive respect. I can still see that goal going in against Crewe during the run in to our promotion just before he was carried off injured. Who can forget ledgendary (?) Roger Malone commenting on SuperBob's third goal (hit from all of 25 yds) "pick that out of the net you boys from Crewe". City1uk
elko
I don't think Lita and Brooker really compare to our best ever pairings. I was a fan of Goater and Agostino. I think they played together for a couple of seasons.

worthyred
I'm probs really wrong but did Taylor and Cheesley play together? ← No there was about a 10 year gap from when Cheesley had to stop playing and Taylor signing.
Rednready
The strongest would be Atyeo and anybody, with daylight second. I watched big John throughout his career and he could score with a rusty gate swinging beside him.
city1uk
A few more Royle and Richie Cole and Dziekanowski McGarvey and Shutt (only joking)
Reddrive
Paul Cheesley and Tom Ritchie got us up to the old 1st division . Good pairing . Then you know what happened next . ( For the younger ones - The Cheese got injured ).
Big Nose
Cheesley YES, what potential that lad had. Tom Ritchie, no, great enthusiasumn but totally unco-ordsinated and predicatable. Full of heart and City through anf through (would go well in Tinpot current scheme of things) but not in the class of Galley, Garland, Crowe or even maybe Kellard, Skirton or Tainton. Mind you it was a different football in thosese days ( made of leat6her and with string holding it together...) You tell the young p[eople of today that and they won 't beliebve you. 22A
Taylor - Turner:- you just knew goals would be scored. A 0-0 draw meant something must have gone wrong. Brooker - Lita:- Still developing. Looks good at present, give it another year and then we can pass judgement. Neville - Riley:- Best we could afford at the time and both were enthusiastic. Galley - Garland:- First pair I saw. When Galley was out though, Garland's form dipped. Both relied on Skirton's crosses. Atyeo - Clark:- before my time, but their goal scoring record speaks for itself. 1. A-C, 2.T-T, 3. G-G, 4.B-L, 5.N-R.
bcfcchris2016
Goater and Agostinho in the 1996/97 season were brilliant. Agostinho did not score many gioals but he could hold the ball up very well although he was not the biggest in height and of course the goat scoring the goals for us. If Brooker and Lita carry on scoring then they can certinaly make the top 10 list
