Robbored Posted December 22, 2003 Report Share Posted December 22, 2003 One of the last times City went out of all the Cups this early in the season was when City went up last time under John Ward. It might be co-incidence but that seaon City were able to concentrate fully on the league programme and played less games after xmas than most of the promotion rivals. Less games means less injuries and suspensions and fresher players week to week without the strain of Cup matches.City now have a free week on Jan 3rd with a twelve day break between games.
