Bristol Boy
From the SL Forum: SL hasn't replied and I'll add it here when he does. Steve, We've all posted lots of times about our underacheivement and I wonder what your view is with regard to the"massive clubs" that have, in the main, spent far less, have less, or at most, very similar support, some of whom don't even have a ground to call their own and yet still have bypassed us. My view is that they have, in general, made far better selections of managers. I've included those clubs with rich benefactors and perhaps it's unfair to compare us, unless of course, we are looking for one right now What do you think the reasons are that: Gillingham Brighton Rotherham Crewe Walsall Preston Cardiff-Very Similar Wigan-Benefactor Watford QPR Burnley Reading-Benefactor Sheff Utd Stoke Plymouth Millwall Fulham-Benefactor have all been promoted? Just had an afterthought.............BOLTON!!
22A
Grimsby went up with us and stayed there five years. Stockport and Bury have also been promoted since and (unlike City) stayed there several years before coming back down. Only 12 years ago we were on a par with Blackburn & Charlton and looking down on Newcastle:grr:
