Crackpot Away Ticket Allocation?

Never to the dark side

Recommended Posts

This is a strange one

Watford have refused Chelsea offer of a further 3,500 tickets for the replay

Not because they might NOT sell them

But any unsold tickets not sold will have to be paid for by Watford football club.

Surely if Bristol City ask for X amount of away tickets and only sell half of them

Bristol City don't have to pay for the tickets they don't sale,or do they?

I dont think that this is the case in division 2 where games dont seel out but it certainly happens in the premiership. At arsenal there is an away section in the Clock End and one in The West Stand, most clubs take all of it but the visitors are offered both or either section and if they dont take one section then these are sold to home fans.

A policy of Chelsea is to offer visiting teams so many tickets and if they want more, they come in set batches all of which MUST be paid for in advance by the club. A few years ago when Posh played at Chelsea they were offered a choice, 2,000 or 10,000 tickets. Posh could not guarantee selling 10,000 so to avoid losing money, they disappointed some fans and only bought 2,000.

Chelsea, you not only rip off fans with your prices, you try ripping off other clubs as well. Come the day, this will be remembered!
