Andre_The_Giant
Anybody have any problems? They've been accused of being a little over-zealous with Bristol City fans in the past. I don't think they've ever really got over the days of Robin Hood and his Merry Men. BS4
Guest lilciderhed
Inside the ground you could have let fireworks off and the stewards and few police wouldnt notice. Many chairs were snapped unnoticed, blokes behind us were doing four at a time and the stewards werent even going to look!

Robbored
I thought they were very good,no problems at all. They allowed us City fan to wander wherever we wanted behind the goal and let us get on with supportung our team. One even advised me to "watch the traffic" as I crossed over the road after the game.

brady bunch
no thanks to a few of our fellow "supporters" who were mindlessly jeering and goading the police before the game (from a safe vantage point - how brave). Whilst the police are not always blameless, this behaviour is stupid and should not be tolerated
Guest two acres red
I thought they were very good evan had 1 say to me hello how you doing ,i hope you beat this lot as I'm a forest fan at half time made me chuckle a bit,

City Rocker
The police behaved impeccably on Saturday. Not so in 1981 at Forest when they steamed, truncheons drawn, into the City contingent whose only crime had been to jump up & down while singing Drink Up Thy Zider. sab
they were fine and ignored the group singing clive whitehead and gerry gow songs at the top of the stands , who were intent on smashing up chairs.Average age must have been 50! brady bunch
I was in front of that group, their songs were good and funny, it appeared to be just one of them who appeared to be a total nutter, who was intent on damaging the seating. Why the frigging hell he wanted to I will never know, fair play to those with him who asked him to cut it out and made comments like "its not worth" (which he ignored). I looked and could not see any CCTV, so I guess he will get away with it (and he failed to break the seat).
Guest lilciderhed
It looked to be around 5 or 6 doing it at the back and my mate said there were some towards the front of the stand.
Guest two acres red
the same man trying to break the seats was at chesterfield and he just went passed the rest of the city fans there and was trying to cause trouble with the police.
Guest N1 Jim
The police were good Saturday. At half time there was one City lad falling all over the place by the food huts. They had a quiet word in his ear and eventually had to nick him as he kept trying to push in the beer queue. Even as they took him away(he was bladdered) they were trying to be fairly gentle and jovial. The usual bearded Bristol copper was doing a good job. Nice to see, but why does anyone wanna smash plastic seats. Guess they ain't getting much of the other or their mum didn't cuddle them?

Considering he was drinking cans of Stella at 10:30 in New Street Station it was no surprise to see him in that state when escorted out of the ground. He was also on the train I caught back and practically fell out of the carriage doors at Derby. Who was this mystery drunk? Did he make it back to Bristol? Guest Uncle Ern
I was part of the group singing the old songs and will quite categorically state that the cretin who damaged the seats was in no way associated with us. Whilst some of the songs may have been considered politically incorrect we would not stoop to that level of behaviour,we were having a laugh and making the most of an infectious atmosphere. Guest SuttonRed
I was at the game with King's Norton red and the lad at New street who was the one escorted out at half-time asked for it! I don't know what first half he saw in his state, possibly liverpool versus greg rusedski (that is drunk!!) As far stewards/policing i have absolutely no complaints, they were very professional, the only place I really felt worried about the officals at the gorund was Burnley. I would never consider going there again.

sab
to Elvis sorry , had no problems with the songs (for most of them , I was there when they were formed) most of you are right-it was really only one sag old bald bloke and after trying on and off for most of the match , he still did'nt break the seat. Best away atmosphere I have experienced in a long time.

Your right Elvis, It was the one bloke causing the problem. I too liked the old songs! it is something missing at the gate these days, all we have is the boring "come on you reds" (which is alright in small doses) and the even worse stand up if you hate the gas". I just wish you had sung a few atyeo and wedlock songs to round off the day. The prat trying to break the chairs needs to sort himself out and behave or be banned. Guest BTR_FTG
Elvis, It's great to hear the old songs again but if I might pick you up on one point.....
