22A Posted January 12, 2004 Report Share Posted January 12, 2004 Redrow homes sponsor Cardiff City. Redrow homes wanted to develop that severnside stadium. A year ago when first plans would have been drafted, Swansea looked like going out of the league. Could Redrow have had a cunning plan to get the Bristol clubs move to severnside, then wither and die through lack of suppport. This would have left Cardiff as the only league club for a 100 mile radius! Casual floating fans may have gone there for their live games and to support the only local team. This would have boosted Cardiff's fanbase and whoknows, perhaps the sponsors would have got something for their money. No proof, just an idle thought...... richieb Posted January 12, 2004 Report Share Posted January 12, 2004 And you forgot to add that the Chairman (founder) of Redrow Homes is also trying to oust David Moores at Liverpool. He wants to invest money but isn't allegedly being allowed. Now as they do in the states, perhaps he was planning to move the whole of the Liverpool set up to Severnside.
