Took a transfer to Coventry under the freedom of contract legislation around in the 70's - and disappeared from the scene quicker than my first pint on a Saturday nightGary Collier went to Coventry for 325,000...He made an error in his first game and the then Coventry manager only played him once after...He then emigrated to the USA where he played for Portland and he still lives in the US.... And he reads this forum on occasion I am given to understand...This club would be lucky to have a player of his quality now... and the fact we couldn't get 325 grand for the whole bloody team thirty years later speaks volumes about him and your memory...
