So we sell £1.7m of players, and spend a whopping £150k. Thats really spending heavily Danny.

Idiot.

Milton Keynes Dons boss Danny Wilson feels League One will be a "very strong" division this season.

"A lot of good players have come into this league this year," Wilson said.

"The teams that finished mid-table last season seem to be the teams that are strengthening the most. It'll be tough.

"You've got big teams like Forest who are favourites to go straight back up, but Bristol City have spent heavily, as have Doncaster, and a few others."

But he added: "When we get into the swing of things, we'll give a good account of ourselves."

Funny really.

I think that this is one of the biggest myths this season.

People on the outside see the likes of Marcus Stewart and Michael Bridges coming to us, with Leroy Lita going for a million and just presume we have splashed out.

Not the case people. disapointed2se.gif

Yeah, the strikeforce that that was pitiful to be honest. It had absolutely nothing going for it. The wrong Roberts turned up and Miller was so short of match fitness it was laughable.

6th August 2005 = a new dawn

30th May 2004 = been, gone, done, dusted, history.

Look forwards not back, otherwise it'll screw your insides, you have been warned. smile.gif

So Doherty, Coles, Heffernan, Miller, etc, were being paid peanuts were they?  I'd be surprised if this seasons wage bill is any higher than last time around.

Could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if the salaries of those four players combined matched the combined salaries of Stewart/Bridges.

Last season we spent £20k on Roberts and £70k on Ifil and recieved about £100k rising to up to a million for Leigh Mills but that was a lot for us under King.

And that was a high spending season but it's still a lot less than £150k but it's the wages that's the biggest difference, even if you'd spent nothing you'd still be big spenders because of your huge wage budget.

Spending heavily can relate to wages and signing on fees ,not just transfer fees ,in that case yes we have spent heavily

We've spent but not heavily at all considering the incoming transfer fees and wages saved due to players leaving. Look at the squad size compared with the last year of Wilson's reign.

Stewart and Bridges are probably on top wages granted, but not so high that losing double the number of players you signed still doesn't save you some.

He's not right.

And he was making the point that our wage bill is unlikely to be any higher at all even though we've signed them because we've let more players go.
