Stoke_Gifford_Red
Quite young so can't comment on many, but I have seen a lot of old World Cup footage and have to say best old player has to be Bobby Moore, some of his play was mazing, and remember he is the most successful England captain of all time. He also did that tackle (against Brazil in 1970 I think, but don't quote me) which I consider to be arguably the best I have ever seen. As for players from my lifetime I particularly remember Cantona, Gazza, and Pearce. Also liked/admired and Keane Scheimechel (sp) as felt they played a big part in Man Utd's success. Edit: Forgot Tinman and of course Atyeo.
annanimo
It's a very difficult one, how can you meaningfully compare, say, Stanley Matthews with Franz Beckenbauer? or Tom finney with Maradona? But here's my top 5:1 Pele2 Cruyff3 Eusebio4 Beckenbauer5 Maradonaothers worth a mention: Rossi, Moore, Keegan, Platini

City Exile
Gosh, what a question! For me, need to distingusih between those with 'flair' and the ablilty to do things that few others could conceive of (Hoddle, Gascoine, Le Tissier) and those who are consistently stunning players. In fairness, difficult to compare a goalie with a centre forward, or players out of their time. This lot in their prime would make a decent enough squad.BECKENBAUER http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/beckbaur.htmlBANKS http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/banks.htmlBEST http://www.ifhof.com/hof/best.aspCRUYFF http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/cruyff.htmlDiSTEFANO http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Bleache.../DiStefano1.htmEUSEBIO http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/eusebio.htmlGARRINCHA http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/garrinch.htmlMALDINI http://www.soccernet.com/euro2000/italy/player/Maldini.htmlMARADONA http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/maradona.htmlMATTHEWS http://www.ifhof.com/hof/stanleymatthews.aspMOORE http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/moore.htmlMULLER http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/gmuller.htmlPELE http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/pele.htmlPLATINI http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/platini.htmlPUSKAS http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/puskas.htmlYASHIN http://www.planetworldcup.com/LEGENDS/yashin.htmlGazza would be in about the '5ths'. bcfcchris2016
looking at old Video Clips, Although he is a Cheating T#####. Diego Maradona in his time was just amazing, what he could do with a ball back then is breathe-taking to watch. anything Cristiano Ronaldo can do with a ball, Maradona can do with a Ping-Pong Ball. at the moment it has got to be Ronaldinho
