Before Johnson started at City other football fans across the UK said Johnson was theie number 1 hated manager becasuse he's a gobby and moaning manager.. I rubbished this off when he joined us thinking he wasnt like that atol... but now I'm not so sure.. From the moment he joined us he has constinently been saying the follwoing things week after week in EVERY media interview..

1. The weakest players will only have weeks to prove themselves

2. I'm going to get in stonger players to replace the weaker ones

3. No one messes with me, the players no my limits

4. Ive cancelled most social activities with the club in order for the players to concentrate more

5. I'm canclelling all days of after any defeat

6. bla bla bla most players in my team at the moment are rubbish...

7. Ive done an assestment report fro every player for Steve L. (Are we at school Gary, you mananged Yeovil for god sake youve come in thinking you Jose Morihnio)

What the hell are you banging on about?

For to long down here its all been to easy with most players signing on the just going through the motions whilst not been given a bl00dy good kick up the arsenal. Now we've got a manager who will get 110% out of most of his player whilst the ones who don't get that bl00dy good kick up the arsenal!

As for point 2 - good I hope he realises who are a weakest players and replaces them - thats called improving!

As for point 7 - we've needed a report about how the club operates from top to bottom for a while now, hopefully it will generate a bit of direction which I think under Gary Johnson there will be.

As for Gary Johnson being that much hated - you sure? Can you really put him in the same catagory as Atkins, Warnock etc?

CITYCITYMAN, you compare Gary with Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho was a nobody at one time as well and never played pro football, fortunately a club chairman took a chance on him and the rest is history. I suppose when Jose started out there were a lot of fans saying "Jose who?" and such like but his attitude, outlook and management skills have been proven at the highest level. Gary is at Bristol City, not Chelsea, but likewise he evidently has the potential to do well at whatever level he finds himself if he's given the chance. He definitely has the right approach for City.

Gary has done very well so far, I'm really not quite sure what more you want from him.

[And your problem is? I have seen or heard nothing that does not take me away from my belief that Johnson is the man to finally rid this club of jokers and drunks. Tinnion tried, but lacked the experience. Johnson clearly knows a good player, and will bring the scale of change needed at this club needed for ten years.

He deserves all of our support, and 9 out of 12 points were vital to get us pulling out of releagtion. We may not get promotion this year, but the team will be better equipped, fitter and healthier in the future.

I'd agree with you if we were not missing almost the whole of our defence and Brooker. Also, you have to remeber we have no left winger or left side really. He's is working brilliantly with not too much at the moment. Just wait until we have Heywood, Partridge, Brooker, Russell, Orr and some left sided players in. Didn't chelsea win alot of games last season 1 nil and still one the titel? We could win every game 1 nil for all i care as long as we win. Yes it is nice if we play well and win but that doesn't happen every week. I would take a 1 nil win over a nil nil draw any day.

The problem GJ has identified is consistency, i.e the lack of it. By going public on a lot of issues, at least he's keeping everyone up to date on what he intends to do about it. What we have at the moment is a team is a team going a step forward and a step back. Against Tranmere, City fell asleep for a large part of the second half. We've seen this so often. There's a tendency in the team to pack up after two thirds of the game and that's what Magic is trying to get on top of. Saturday, the passing was sloppy, too many give-aways, we didn't compete enough for the ball in midfield (Cole Skuse I thought was one of the worst offenders). Now Barnet. 9 points out of 12 has been hard won and without Magic I can't see how we would have managed even 2. I think now, he can see the true nature of the task ahead, and he's dead serious about sorting it out which is good news for us all.

All i can is hes got every right to moan,johnsons managing a bunch of over paid muppets at the moment its not his squad that is currently in place,

Results at places like barnet is not good enough,the players are now learning the hard way and i can see several players leaving this club in january.

I'm behind johnson all the way its going to take time to get the squad he wants and from what i see the squad tinman has essembled is not as strong as people make out.

Totally agree. When Johnson has players back from injury etc and brought in his own players in January you can start judging him. Up until this point he has done very well with limited talent and discipline issues. Whenever I hear Johnson talk, he talks 100% sense and ins't annoying either. Try listening to Martin Allen for once...

Wow! It almost sounds professional. Music to the ears. A refreshing change compared to the dross from previous managers IMHO. Oh and his career goes way back beyond Yeovil...maybe you should to a little more research on his career and credentials. It might make you feel better.

The truth hurts doesn't it. Bottom line is we have been a crap team for too long. GJ is the first person to stand up and speak the truth. It has not been gloomy and negative. It has been truthful and refreshing from a guy who clearly knows what he is talking about and experienced and professional enough to achieve success.

We need a manager with more character and more boistrous imo. The last two managers have not necessarily come out all guns blazing (concededly Tinnion did sometimes but often backfired) and neither has got us promotion. For me GJ is a breath of fresh air.

Didn't chelsea win alot of games last season 1 nil and still one the titel? We could win every game 1 nil for all i care as long as we win. Yes it is nice if we play well and win but that doesn't happen every week. I would take a 1 nil win over a nil nil draw any day.

I cant believe some of the stuff I am reading on here it seems crazy!! How can you criticise a manager who in 4 games has got us more points that the previous one did since the start of the season! We are on the up and that has happened since we got GJ in. The point about the manager not caring that the players have a drink I just couldnt believe. The point is it is NOT the players choice as to whether they can go out and get plastered. As part of their job they are required to maintain and improve fitness level and professional athletes cannot go around drinking every night, therefore it is precisely the managers job to clamp it down.

It's nice to see a manager come in who is prepared to shake up the club and players and get us all moving in the right direction, I just hope he doesnt pay attention to someo of the posts on here!

Before Johnson started at City other football fans across the UK said Johnson was theie number 1 hated manager becasuse he's a gobby and moaning manager.. I rubbished this off when he joined us thinking he wasnt like that atol... but now I'm not so sure.. From the moment he joined us he has constinently been saying the follwoing things week after week in EVERY media interview..

1. The weakest players will only have weeks to prove themselves

2. I'm going to get in stonger players to replace the weaker ones

3. No one messes with me, the players no my limits

4. Ive cancelled most social activities with the club in order for the players to concentrate more

5. I'm canclelling all days of after any defeat

6. bla bla bla most players in my team at the moment are rubbish...

7. Ive done an assestment report fro every player for Steve L. (Are we at school Gary, you mananged Yeovil for god sake youve come in thinking you Jose Morihnio)

Oh do shut up Gary and shut your trap.. Stop giving media interviews if all you are going to do is SLAG off the players and bring a gloomy and negative attidude towards the club.. Yes we knowcertain players have discraced the club lately and have been rightly punished but why keep giving these interviews to the press reminding fans of how bad things are in the sqaud at the moment... YES we are winning games well done but at least be a bit more positive about that and Praise players more like Cotterill, Wilskshire and Phillips who are having an outstanding season... WHERE THE PRAISE FOR THE GOOD ONES????

look people I am a good person, I ONLY post my thoughts and my thoughts are what I see in all the press interviews and ect.. I happen to feel that Gary Johnson is a good manager, don't get me wrong we are getting good results.. BUT I happen to think Gary needs to be a bit more positive to the sqaud and if he oversteps the diciplinery mark the sqaud will be unhapy and want to move elswhere.

But that's good isn't it ? Although I've never been entirely convinced by the argument, a lot of people think the root of our underacheivement has been the comfort zone attitude of some of the players and what was needed was a bit of no nonsense discipline - those that can't hack it are welcome to ship out.

I don't know if you have acess to his interviews on word but he often compliments indicudual players when they've made a good contribution to a game - however you look at it results are all at the moment and hes put together a decent little run in the league so far with 9 points from 12 ?

I went to 20 games last season and the 3 seasons before I went to every home game league cup and friendlies. This year I have financial problems so there for havn't been able to go to any games yet apart from a few friendlies.

Still listen on world though to every home and away cup. I don't care what the score is of the games as long as we win them could be 10-9 to us and I wouldn't care. A win is a win and who cares how we get it as long as we get it.
