Percy Parrot
Russia WILL be allowed to play in Euro 2004, despite Egor Titov's failed drugs test. Cue random and annoying p155 takes on Cardiff message boards?
PhatWill
Damn, I have tickets for Portugal V Russia. How good would it have been to see Wales get dicked by the Portugeuse in Lisbon?!
Admin phantom Posted February 3, 2004 Admin Report Share Posted February 3, 2004 Probably part of the reason why Wales were not admitted in place of Russia. With lots of tickets already sold to Russian fans !, just imagine the nightmare of trying to get those back then selling tickets to the Welsh supporters. The thing that amazed me was if there was a case against this player, why did it take Wales to "appeal". IF he was guilty (etc) then surely UEFA should have sorted it without the need for the Welsh to have to appeal.
Robbored
The decision stinks! Wales should have been either re-instated in place of Russia or the ties should have been replayed. By taking no serious action FIFA have condoned the use of drugs in the game. Its OK to gain an unfair advantage by fielding a drug enhanced player. What kind of message is that? Its a terrible decision.
