Bristol City are hoping to tie up a loan deal for Cardiff City's Finnish midfielder Toni Koskela, 22, before Thursday's 1700 GMT loan deadline.

Cardiff manager Dave Jones has agreed the move, but owner Sam Hammam does not want any players to leave the club.

"The boy is here and waiting to sign but we need Dave Jones to make Sam Hammam change his mind," City manager Gary Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol.

"He's a tackling midfield player but he can play as well and has great energy."

The former Finland Under-21 international joined the Bluebirds in February and made two appearances the following month, but has not featured in Cardiff's first team this season.

I was hoping for a striker to be honest, But if this lad turns out good then so be it.

if brooker and stewart are fit all we need are some players that can play some good balls to them

somnthing that we are lacking atm

Finnish central midfielder, plays the defensive role for Cardiff. Was voted young player of the season in the Finnish league when he was 19/20 or so (same thing was won by a certain Jari Litmanen when he was younger).

lets hope he doesen't finnish us off
