Private Cider(cider army) Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Whats the general consensus for congrigating in a pub tomorrow ?? Anyone got any suggestions ??
Guest WillsbridgeRed Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Cherry Tree is good for away fans. AVOID the BEEKEEPER behind the shopping centre
22A Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Good point Willsbridge, but the name is BEEHIVE, not Beekeeper. For those coming by train, this pub is between the station and the ground. What passes for Posh's firm gather in this pub. As the road it stands on is a fenced dual carriage way, you can pass safely by on the other side of the road. The Cherry Tree near the junction of Oundle Road and London Road welcomes visiting fans and The Peacock on London Road is usually OK. Since when does the name Peacock have anything to do with pubs?
cheshire_red Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 I went to one last year, about 5 minutes (at most) walk from the ground. Had a car park (£3 refundable against drinks purchased BEFORE the game) and a beer garden (though rain forecast). Plenty of shirts from both clubs before and after the game and we watched the FA Cup draw on TV (everyone trying to work out where the heck Heybridge was!! Only problem, can't remember the name, Help 22A!
Redminster Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Cheshire, that pub was called the Cherry Tree as 22A has mentioned. Was in there last year aswell. Will be there tomorrow with my wife and a mate - probably quite early to watch Man Utd-Man City before our game. Will look out for you tomorrow. Heybridge? Where's that?
Northern Red Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 My train from Leeds gets in at 12.30, so me + my mate will be in the Cherry Tree. They might have the Man Utd - Man City cup match on (12.30 Ko)
