I know for a fact before joining QPR, Stoke were interested and they advised him to go to Tamworth to get his fitness levels up and prove himself. Tamworth to Stoke, is like Forest Green to us I believe, where we send our youngsters and that.At the time, Marvin was also playing for Tamworth,

Desso
According to the Midland Daily Echo dated March 2002 a Reg Tamworth and a Ron Brown played for the same team in the Leicester and District Sunday league, whereas our Aaron Brown didn't. This is obviously how this rumour started.
