downendcity Posted July 7, 2006 Report Share Posted July 7, 2006 I don't hate Man U more like resent them. It started back in the early '70's when they were relegated to the old div 2 ( 1972?) Despite this , they still seemed to appear on MOTD as much, if not more, than any 1st Division club. Then as now they wer held in special regard by much of the media. They always seemed to have more "clout" than most other clubs and it is only since Chelsea's Russian Billions enabled them to buy the Premiership that that position has been challenged.
