redsontour
loyalty springs instantly to mind to keep on going through adversity e.g 1979 -82A sense of belonging as i feel equally at ease talking to a shirt wearing fan or one of the lads from the Lions because we share a common passion based on our and the clubs history.I will toss in my thirty years of commitment, pride in BCFC and it's community.I am getting all touchy feely & may have to hug a tree in Ashton.A nice answer...and my first two questions?(typed whilst stroking my Thorn security shirt and dreaming of Corinthian Casuals away....) Wurzel City
Sorry, I ask again. What is the difference between him & GJ? You said important employee didn't you?Why is whether the Chief executive of a listed company a fan of the club of any relevence?I assume you are simply stating that he is lying when he says he is a fan? So could I assume if he had the badge tatooed on his ample rear that would be enough? At no point havei said he is a liar although he has been known to spin details like linking prices to views not capacity.I do not want to look at Colins arse even though it is probaly perfectly formed and uniformally tanned.Mr S is from Bedminster he must have a history of supporting City so i ask as i am curious. It's an interesting topic. Chief executive he is but fan i do not know. If he did have a history of supporting City some of the clubs pr faux pas might not have been so frequent. Fans can and are experts as well.
Dolman Block B
Mmmm, waving his tanned booty at Lansdown and high fiving Dawe does not count as no fans i know do that.A man of his years should be able to recall Jimmy Mann Beating Shilton with a free kick that started in Greville Smythe Park or in later years the great Gus Caesar being mesmorized everytime the ball came near him.It 's up to you to Arny to shmooz up and get these doubts cleared up but i would'nt trust the bloke as he would soon spin it on it's head and start on the "have you seen our premier club"?I think he's the Manager!Wurzel am i losing the plot here or something.Do you expect him to dance round like a bloody maniac when City score?Hes a proffesional man in a proffesional position for christs sake.Leave all that dancing and screaming stuff to me i say.I'm not sure if i completly if i understand what your threads asking now.Perhaps its me, after all its Monday

So here goes i could dress up in a suit and pretend to be a dashing exectutive but......!Mr S is a man hailing from Bedminster so he is going to have a rich experience of supporting City with it's highs and lows behind him or did he become a fan when he was employed?Employee/fan. Not the same thing is it?

Plenty of tales but none involving Colin

bucksred
Thanks for that oh so valuble contribution to the thread.I have no problem with encouraging families (£££), I understand that this is the way the industry has gone (£23 for third flight Football deemed as acceptable and the norm), my main issue is that there are some who enjoyed Football just the way it was before the comercialisation of the industry and now feel that what was theres has been scantly sold and there is nowt they can do about it.Colin Sexstone, with suppossed authorety (and as a fan), has done nowt and cares little for those who share my opinion.Spot on. cider head
Now now the tales of Sexstone the red cider in hand swinging off a bar, jeans round his ankles singing drink up thy cider or the time he ran out of the East End in 76, fell on his arse, ripped his jeans but none of it mattered as he rolled onto the pitch because City were up will soon be told.SEXY IS A LEGEND!a subber at heart then

Your profile says "supported City since 1966" thats 40 years by my reckoning.......... And as to the original question, what difference does it make? Another question is; would a mad keen, passionate fan be able to make the correct commercial decisions for the club, or would the heart rule the head? lukejones2
The answer for me, is that you can't have just one person making all of the decisions. Whether Colin is a fan or not doesn't matter to me as he has done a grand job at bringing more revenue in (his job).Unfortunately, not all of his decisions have made me (or other fans) happy and this is why fans need to have a say in decisions before they are made - at boardroom level.
