22A Posted November 15, 2006 Report Share Posted November 15, 2006 ESPN, channel 442 on Sky, shows football, rugby, cricket and boxing from the 70s and 80s.Monday 20th November between 6.00 and 7.00pm they will be showing highlights of three games from September 1980 and one of them is Bristol City v Notts Co.Your chance to once more see Cashley, Sweeney, Merrick, Garland etc! Though it was a glamous game between Barnsley and Portsmouth in a Second Division game in 1985. I did not know the channel was allowed for Sky TV. I might just watch that City game. 22A Posted November 22, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 22, 2006 ESPN have now shown Pompey v Fulham also from Sept 80 in a Div 3 game. Since then both clubs, like City, dropped into Div 4. Two out of the three are now established Premiership clubs; guess the odd one out!True, and just think that only as recent as the 1996/97 season, Wigan Athletic and Fulham were in Division Three (now League 2) whilst Bristol City were in Division Two (League 1).
