Hopes Boosted By Return Of Key Players

I must admit I was UNDERWHELMED when I read that our hopes for FA Cup success would be boosted by the return to fitness of Messrs. Bell, Carey and Brown.

We are playing a non-league side for goodness sake and just who would make way for any of those three.

Brown - no way

Bell - in place of Woodman ? Yeah right but that is the sort of dumb move one would expect from DW

Carey - maybe for Coles, Butler ? No it'll be Hill, one of the few to play with passion even if he does have limitations

But therein lies the problem - too many ordinary players as I posted on this forum last week.

Solution - many out of contract this summer..... current situation 30 players on an average £1500 per week = cost £2.3m per annum ...... next season 15 players on £2500 per week plus 10 on £1000 = cost £2.4m.

FEWER PLAYERS ON MORE MONEY = BETTER TEAM

SMALLER SQUAD OF HARDENED PROS = OPPORTUNITY FOR ACADEMY KIDS TO BLOSSOM

I to was underwhelmed when I read the EP today.

Carey has been poor all season and I don`t think his absence has been missed at all.

Brown, 1 good game in 4 and then gets injured or sent off.Only Bell is worth his place imho.

But...the EP had to fill a third of the back page with something I suppose.
