City at Scunny

I believe S****horpe were (one of) the first clubs in recent times to move to a new ground; The Show Ground to Glandford Park. After the Ashton 8 departed Jimmy Mann joined Scunny and scored the only goal there in a 1-0 home win. Since those days though, City have usually been in a higher division than them.

Going back over the last five or six seasons, City won 2-1 at S****horpe for three consecutive seasons at the end of which they were relegated. Having come back up, City won there again last season.

Therefore is Glandford Park a lucky ground for us? Do City have an even better (recent) record at any other ground?

Quite by coincidence; Going back over the last five or six seasons, City won at Wrexham for three consecutive seasons at the end of which they were relegated. Having come back up, City won there again last season and they were relegated again.

Also; Going back over the last five or six seasons, City won at Peterborough for three consecutive seasons at the end of which they were relegated. They've still not come back up! :clapping:

Sorry, Jimmy Mann only played twice for Scunny and never scored another league goal after leaving City.

I recall seeing Alan Nicholls break his leg at the old show ground in a 1-1 draw in '82, sadly the young centre back never played again.

It does look like we have a good record at Glanford, though, even Steve Jones scored there!
