Tristan Plummer - Where do we stand?

Since Tristan hasn't signed and is looking elsewhere we seem to be in limbo. He's doesn't appear to be playing for us anymore. Now he's 17 does he remain on any sort of contract with City? Is he still training with us? I've read he signed a pre contract agreement but I'm not sure of the status of this. Anyone shed any light on the situation?

Posted
Where was all this reported?

I haven't seen anything about him looking around or not playing for us anymore?

He was expected to sign a pro contract last month on his 17th birthday but hasn't done so.

Posted
Hasn't he?

The club haven't announced he's signed and various posts over the past few weeks have stated his agent is touting him around. Also there was a rumour Arsenal were interested but apparently they deny it.

Please see above, he has signed for us I have it on very good authority. When school goes back after half term I will find out why it hasnt been publicised but she told me weeks ago it was all sorted.

Tristan isnt going anywhere. One of the Mums at school works with the Youth team and hes all ours honest. :clapping:

So exactly where do we stand in view of the fact he hasn't signed? Will he continue to play as "non professional"?

He has signed. Honest, I don't know why the club havent publicised it either, but she told me he had signed a pre contract contract with us, and on his birthday he would be signing the proper one.

I will be delighted if he has signed, but I can't believe the club wouldn't have announced it if he had. It's good news - why keep it quiet?

All the club has said is that is he signed a pre contract agreement. Since then ......silence.

Thanks Dollymarie. Do you you know if he's still training with us?

The Arsenal thing was a hoax.

Surprised his signing hasn't been announced but I doubt very much he would be going elsewhere at a young age when he has a good chance of first team football and is part of an academy setup here.

Well the lady who works with them and comes into school hasnt said he wasnt training with them any more thats for sure. I'm not one to make stuff up, and am as equally puzzled as to why it hasnt been announced.

the boro replays, sag games and new singings from outside the club might have just forced this issue down the list abit.

hope he has signed, as despite what a few people say about his attitude, he undoubted has real talent and hopefully GJ can sort his head out, if there is indeed a problem at all.

No doubt all will be revealed in due course, but I honestly can't believe he's signed if the club haven't announced it. In the meantime I still don't know where we stand with this "pre contract agreement" - hence the original post.

So do I, but I can't think of a reason why a football club wouldn't announce a new signing to its shareholders and fans. We've always announced the pro signing of our other academy youngsters in the past.

Well I hope your right Dolly as we don't want to lose his for next to nothing and would love to see him in the squad come the end of the season with likes of Artus.

Tristan Plummer is in Portugal with the England U 17 team I was watching the City- Boro match with him in the Holiday Inn in Maidenhead last week as they were playing warmup matches in the South East. That's the honest truth. He also gave Jennison Myrie- Williams' details to one of the coaches in the team who was asking about him, so he might get some kind of call up too soon.

Perhaps they didn't want to announce anything because it would increase the clamour on here for him to be included in the side or squad? GJ will want to blood him in his own time.

If he is away with the U17's then they will want to wait until he returns and do the whole photoshoot thing.

Yes, he's in the Algarve - see the FA website. Tournament ends on Tuesday.

NB: He is the ONLY player in the England U-17 squad at that tournament from a club outside of the top 2 divisions.

He wasn't in the U18 squad yesterday that beat MK Dons 4-3.

who was in the under 18 squad ? who scored the goals ?

He was told by BCFC that he would have to make a decision to sign the contract before Febuary 1st. Now this date has passed, BCFC have given him a further 2 months to make his final decision.

The reasons why he hasnt already signed is because he wants to move to America and becuase of the contract offer from Arsenal.

I was about to ask the same question.

And a move to America? Is any particular club interested in him?

PS. He signed a pre-contract agreement, so would we get a fee if he moved, despte not actually signing a pro contract?

There was no contract offer from Arsenal, it was a deliberate hoax. No offence like, but your previous tips about academy players such as Cotterill being in talks with Blackburn and Artus to Newcastle weren't exactly on the money so I doubt very much this one is either. Why on earth would a young unproven footballer want to go to the USA? Doesn't make any sense.

Spoke to my friend in school today and she said (and I quote)

The club have offered him a contract, the Arsenal story was a hoax, and he is not going to America, however she did say that he had been listening to one too many agents who have distracted him from signing the contract as he thinks he may get other offers (which havent come in yet)

The club have made it clear they want to sign him, and now they are just waiting for him to do so.

Heres hoping hey!

aahh that would be the "infamous" agent who looks after Lita and Anyinsah...

Are we saying there is no truth in the "runours" that he has been training with a certain team in London that the youth lost to in the FA Youth cup ??? - lets get him signed ... we need some good PR at the moment !

Am I right in thinking we got him to sign a pre-contract agreement, so even if he now moves elsewhere we get more than just a rubbish tribunal fee?

She didnt believe that there was any truth in the Arsenal story, she said hes young, and people are putting ideas in his head, and he should really just hurry up and sign for us.

Thanks Dollmarie. Whilst Tristan makes up his mind is he still training with us or playing for us?

Also, if he doesn't sign where do we stand with this pre contract agreement?

Still not signed? We could do with another option up front.

Am i the only person who thinks we shouldn't be held to ransom by some 17 year old who has only proved himself at reserve level?

If he signs ye great, if he thinks he can get a better option somewhere else good luck to him, he can join, his bro, Marvin Brown and Joe Anyinsah on the 'to good for the club' list.

he played and scored in midweek,

still no news about pro-contract yet, however apparently he is still contracted as an academy player until end of next season

Even if Tristan does eventually sign it now appears it will be because his agent hasn't been able to get him a more attractive deal elsewhere. Hardly a sign of passion and commitment to City. From what I've read we are simply a fallback position so far as he is concerned.
