Barrs Court Red
No quarter was asked or given, as a fight broke out over the ownership of a pig and three crippled chickens during the Cheltenham farmers market.Members of the Yeovil farming fraternity claimed that they had brought the animals to market, but a crowd of disgruntled Cheltenham landsmen claimed the animals were taken.Following a brawl involving pitchforks, spades and several harsh words, the local militia broke up the fight and detained several ruffians from both sides. They face either transportation to Austrailia, or a stint in the town stocks.
