Bubble
Anyone going to the game not coming from Bristol, but they are already based in London - I am in essex and travelling into Liverpool Street, don't really want to go all the way west over to Paddington. Therefore anyone meeting in other pubs areas?I want to have a couple of jars before the game - preferably not around the groundCheers
NiceRed
Yeah, coming from Clapham. Was thinking of London Bridge area, which is a very short train ride from South Bermondsey. There's plenty of pubs around there though don't know which one exactly

Vespa Red
To be honest lads, I'd conduct this conversation through a series of PMs and not on an open forum. Millwall are renowned for drinking in the London Bridge area both prior to and following games. And you never know who's reading this....

Sorry you got so defensive.I got to be honest with you, Vespa is right, you want to steer clear of anywhere near their manor. They're absolute an*mals - they have a reputation and want to keep it.I suggest you make a bit of a day of it, and aim to drink somewhere relatively central. If you go for somewhere around Waterloo you're on the Jubilee to get down to Bermondsey.

DB Cooper
London Bridge is 'Millwall' but is well policed enough, and has enough different pubs to mean that if you are a - Not mouthyb - Not stupidandc - Not giving it the big one in a red City shirt, you should be fineOur ground is the safest in the country, if you have some common sense and don't want trouble. However, it can be the most dangerous if you are stupid and come looking for somethingFriendly warning (if anyone needs it!!) , Millwall will be 'out' for this one........... giles_23_bcfc
c - Not giving it the big one in a red City shirt,What exactly do you mean by that? Would we get away with wearing a red shirt but being quiet or not a chance in hell?

Would we get away with wearing a red shirt but being quiet or not a chance in hell?Over the last couple of years, we've been infected by wannabe young hooligans who don't 'play by the rules'. The proper mob will be looking for the other firm while these little ######s go around attacking anyone and being general scumbags on the train and at London BridgeYou should be ok, but watch out for our muggy younger element at London Bridge. So would we have to go straight in the ground or would we be able to find a pub? If so, is there any pubs that genuine city fans, who don't want any trouble, to enjoy a couple of pints? Once in the area of the ground, just go in the stands, the local area is not a place to wander around and certainly not a place for Bristol fans to be drinking. They will not let the coaches anywhere near London Bridge as well...........

DB Cooper
thanks for the friendly warning db,where would you recommend having a bevvy to at waterloo?Waterloo will be fine. It's still within Millwall distance but there would only be trouble up there when we play Pompy.West end, Waterloo, will all be sweet and to be fair, London Bridge should be OK as, if i said, you have a bit of common. Just watch it up LB as it sometimes can get a bit lively up there. But, all City fans who aren't looking for trouble, AVOID Bermondsey, Peckham and Rotherhithe

The ground sells beer though doesnt it?
The Casual Connoisseur
If I get a ticket I will be in The Clockhouse in Peckham Rye, walk up to Peckham Rye Station and catch the BR, ten minutes to South Bermondsey. In out & celebrate, hopefully.

Bristol Boy
Yes - London Bridge is not MillwallDon't tell them that. For the record, Swansea were met by the police at Paddington who escorted them directly to a London Bridge pub and kept them there until escorting them on to a train to Sth Bermondsey, then the ground and the same on the way back. There were 11 Riot Vans and the pub was cordened off by Police. The number of fans?About 50 :noexpression:So I think it's fair to say the Police will be taking things seriously. If you want a quiet drink, I'd go somewhere like Covent Garden or meet the other City fans at Paddington. The Casual Connoisseur
Same happened with us a few years back, put us all on a tube when we came out of the Pride, then into a pub under escort in a back street at L Bridge, it kicked off with the OB after a pie was chucked full into a coppers face, it then went mental in LB station as Millwall were in Garfunkels pub and were quite anxious to "greet" us. Then after a couple of goals in City kicked in the doors at the back of the stand in an attempt to get into the Millwall end, just an average day out South of the river.
