Could We Sign Eastwood From Southend?

If we do go up :fingerscrossed: and in the likely event Southend go down, it's highly unlikely Billy Sharp will come are way but would Freddie Eastwood be a possibility (at a price of course?) Personnally think he is class and would be a great signing. How much would he cost??

Evening Sticks,

Eastwood would be a great signing for city, however its not johnsons style to spend big.

He likes to unearth talent from reserve teams, lower leagues and unknown foreign players.

If they are known players they would have to be out of contract, maybe a relegation release clause, would be very surprised though.

Would be interesting to see a list of players out of contract in the summer.

Anyone know of any?

I think that is down to the managers we have had, since Lansdown has be in control, have you ever heard a city manager complain about not having funds for transfers.

I'm sure all of the directors would listen to any requests for a player and do their upmost to make sure it happened.

If city do go up whats the chances of lansdown splashing out to buy any decent players? He is minted we sold Lita for 1 million what the hell did he do with that money? He didnt buy anyone worth it

We used it to pay of the debt and shore up the clubs finances.

Plus, since selling Lita we bought Noble and signed several quality players on frees or for nominal fees (McAllister, McCombe, Fontaine, Basso, Johnson) proving that spashing the cash doesn't always help you build the best team.

Plus, SL has backed GJ with funds when asked for (£300k for Holt on table, Betsy and Wilson fees) so what are you trying to say?

Forget Eastwood - he'll be going to a bigger club than City when Southend get relegated.Maybe not a Premierhip club but one of the Championship big boys like Wolves or WBA.Watford would probably be interested in the Championship next season as they don't have goalscorer.Maybe even West Ham as they'll be losing big name players when they get relegated as well.

No chance!

Eastwood will be at one of the smaller premiership clubs next year. Lets be honest, we are going to struggle in the our 1st year in the championship and staying up must be looked upon as a good thing (consolidation is the word!). Why would eastwood want to join a struggling Championship side?

Nice thought but it aint going to happen. Think he'll go to Man City.

I would like to see Porter from Oldham here, scores goals, looks like a player bound for the championship, by the looks of things Oldham wont be going up, but you never know, does anyone else think we could maybe snap him up? I do :englandsmile4wf:

No doubt about Porters quality - especially as he can play as a striker or as an attacking midfielder.Would be an asset to the City squad.
