Robbored Posted September 24, 2007 Report Share Posted September 24, 2007 Poor final ballRan out of ideas against a team who came to defend and resorted to long ballNo target man when we go long ball2 sloppy passes cost us 2 pointsViews ?Agree mostly - but sloppy passes happen all the time in football so I'm not pointing the finger at whoever was responsible.Just unfortunate that they led to goals.As for the long ball - I was amazed to see City adopt the 'tactic' especially without a target man.It was like a blast from the past.I don't know whether Johnson instructed the players to play like that but I'd be surprised if he did.One thing about Johnson's style is that he likes his teams to play decent football and for long periods in the second half we didn't see much quality football.Balls 'over the top' to pacy strikers are ok now and then but not as the only tactic.Carey reminded me of how he used to play - 'whooosh!'....
