Trouble After The Game

As we left the game, the police decided to keep us all in one area- but not stop us from exiting the area. Subsequently, fights broke out between Wolves and City 'fans' and then there were running battles, which we had to litreally jump out of the way of. Not a pretty sight, and i guess that there may well be some consequences of this- in my view the police didn't control the situation well at all- anyone could see there was going to be trouble, they should have cleared the area before letting the City fans out. Worst trouble since Forest. Not good....

Lets put things right before they even get started 10 seconds of fighting 20 punches thrown 1 little rush all over in 1 min ( admit could of been bad but wasnt ) so lets not beat on the loads of trouble drum

by the way good performance by the lads today if you wanna hype trouble go up the cabot

It was handbags mate. A few Wolves fans looking for a fight and they got one for about ten seconds was the way I saw it. The police hurt more fans than any rival supporters. me and the old man were walking right in the middle of the Wolves idiots (not for a fight, obviously!!) and one lunatic got a right clobbering from the police - blood all over his face and still trying to goad the City fans.

Well done that man! :clapping: Why does everyone blow everything out of proportion all the time?

From what I saw anyway....Wolves came at us and the City boys obviously didn't like it and shoooooed them off from the other City supporters behind!

I expected nothing less from the most useless police force in the uk, i was told to stop swearing in the ground (which even the steward who was stood next to me all game was surprised about) then when i told one outside the ground that some people were trying to walk up over the grass mound the wrong way I was told to F-off unless i wanted trouble, and my old man who is in his 60s hardly a hooligan, after a charge of people up molineux way had a baton pulled out at him and threatened whith move or be hit. Useless as per usual. However i thought the stewards were pretty good and the ones I spoke to were helpful and full of banter - top blokes

Yup the stewards were very polite and nice from what I saw today. The only bad moment was just as we were about to finish collecting and go into the ground and a copper walks up to me and says "Do you have a street licence to collect here, otherwise I'm going to have to take all that money off you right now"

He was trying to make a joke and he couldnt have taken the money off us anyway as we had Wolves permission and we were on their land and therefore covered under Wolves' licence.

Never mind :disapointed2se:

It was mental tinman, fists and boots flying, with the ald bill hitting out at everything and everyone.

It was the worst ive seen for years, and City cant take all the blame, the Wolves lads were as bad

Cant agree with that Kev, it was mayhem at the top of the hill.

A lot of lads didnt have a clue the way back to the station, and it was going off everywhere.

Knowing you, you were probably aving another pee!!!

Counted 14 today, and on 5 pints mate, you need to see a doctor..... :innocent06:

Did anyone see or hear about what happened before the game?

We were in the club shop and heard people talking about it kicking off by a station and three people getting stabbed?

Probably just rumours but thought I'd post none the less!

It was pretty mad before the game.

City lads were in about 4 or 5 pubs very early, say 11 30ish.

Me a few mates were in the Goose when apparently windows were broken, and bottles were thrown at a pub 200 yards down from us.

We heard there were quite a few problems in the Weatherspoons to, but cant confirm that.

As for 3 being stabbed...rollocks i think, but no doubt someone will put me right

It was stupid of the police to herd all the Away fans into one group and so offer any Wolves lot who fancied a go the perfect target.

I was right by the grass bank and few of our boys charged over it and gave the Wolves boys what they were looking for. Then the old bill waded in, deserting the barricade they had previously set up to hold us all in one place. We were thus able to stroll back to our car with no trouble - rather than be stuck right in the middle of it all!!!!

Who-ever thought it a good idea to let us out of the ground but then try and make us wait for the area clear should lose his bloody job.

Quality reply mate.

You might say it was next to nothing, but me and Russ went right out the ground instead of straight on, and it was mad mate.

Yes agree, probably no more than 2 or 3 minutes but thats a long time when your hearts pumping 200 beats to the second.... :noexpression:

Still ald Arn survived to do it all again............. :innocent06:

It definetly wasn't handbags. I have only been a fan since 97 and have thankfully supported City in an age where fighting and troube is rare. It might have been handbags compared to the 70's and 80's but it didn't seem like that to me. An absoloute disgrace, and there was definetly more than 10 or 20 up for a fight, on both sides. To pass it off as handbags is justifying it- we must stop this at football, it is not on, we have moved on.....haven't we?

I was in the weatherspoons + the police told the staff to stop serving us but wouldnt let anyone out the pub, eventually after people were helping themselves to beer the police frog marched everyone to the ground.

After the game the police did an awful job, same old story of letting us out when the area wasnt clear of wolves fans waiting for city. when the trouble happened abeit a few punches here + there the police then stepped in to disperse the two sets of fans.

I walked out and turned left and didn't see any trouble, just a lot of riot please running around. I assumed that as a Category C match we would be kept in after the game. Makes you wonder if the West Midlands Police have a hidden agenda when it comes to football violence, they seem to be good at starting it.

Handbags?!

Not from what I witnessed coming out at the bottom of the hill, it was the worst I've seen since West Brom away in the last promotion season. Not just "handbags" and posturing it was toe to toe for a good few minutes until the WMP eventually decided a barrier might be a good idea.

The WMP let us out with no segregation, City fans went to go up the hill back towards the station, only for a load of Wolves to steam in.

Whilst their actions can be slated forever and a day at if our lot hadn't been where my wife and I were and between us and the Wolves fans we'd had got clobbered.

Worst thing was the WMP decided it would then be a good idea to batter them with shields and battons and then run them up the road into families, women and children. It was a miracle no one was crushed. We were all herded into a back street and held there until getting an escort to the station and car parks - not just hooligans but normal City fans, couples, kids the lot.

Rubbish.

All in all it took the shine of a superb away performance which in reality should've been 3 points.

Sir Colby, the west midlands ald bill have been nothing but a pain in our arses in the past, but to be fair they were ok today, certainly when escorting us back to the station.

One made me laugh.

On double time, and hated Wolves with vengence.

Said he was off duty at 7 30pm, and had a curry and his leg over promised :noexpression:

Made me chuckle, and thats how they should all be.

Unfortunately, when it was going off, they really didnt have a clue.

You must have come out of the ground late then my friend - they wouldn't let anyone turn left at all when we came out. That was where we were parked so no good to us going any other way though!! We eventually managed to leave only when the ruck kicked off and the police all ran over to it.

Didn't come out late, the coppers just weren't bothered about letting us through. One even moved a barrier so we could get through. Must be my angelic face!

I did exactly the same, wanted to get back to the train station the way I knew which was through the town centre (the way i came in) I must have walked through 3 lines of robocops non of which tryed to stop me or say that I wasnt going to get through the way i was going, got half way up the road and there was 20 - 30 wolves fans running down the hill because they were let through by there police.

NOT a full scale riot but definatly had me thinking I might be getting a whack.

A very badly planned operation by police with non of them seeming to know what was going on.

Thanks Arny.

Maybe if you go back to the 70's and 80's today was really lame but in this day and age you don't really expect what we saw today.

You always get the younger kids bouncing up and down, posturing and goading opposition fans but this was, albeit briefly, toe to toe fighting with no segregation.

The WMP had absolutely no clue and no interest in keeping order for several minutes.

One of course could argue, "well if the fans behaved the police wouldn't have to do anything or needed at football" which has some weight but I think anyone who goes to football away regularly knows thats a distant utopia that'll probably never happen.
