screech
10 games, is that all, what a waste of time bidding for it, why not have a game every Saturday evening during the season, that would be worthwhile doing.

CiderEagle
I think its a shame that the ITV Sunday morning programme will be no more. ITV get a lot of stick for their dreadful Champions Leagye coverage but if you want intelligence covered with real enthusiasm, Mat Smith is the best on the box bar none. I don't want Lineker / Hanson / Shearer et al being patronising about the "smaller" clubs ...

22A
I disagree with the idea of one or two channels having exclusive rights. The International Olympic Committee could make more money by selling their TV rights to Sky, but they want as many people as possible to see their event which is why it remains on terrestial TV.Traditionally BBC had MOTD on a Saturday night showing two top games from the entire League; if two teams near the top of Div 4 were playing ine another that would be shown as the programmes title is Match of the Day. On Sunday afternoons ITV's regions would show three local games.ITV ruined it when they bought exclusive rights to the entire League and then only showed games featuring Arsenal, Spurs, Forest, Man U, Everton and L'pool. That helped the then top teams think they were much better than the rest leading to the setting up of the Premiership.
Mike
To be fair it's nice news to see BBC get some matches but then are they really going to benefit from 10 live matches? Not really. As for the goals well that's no big deal either as the current coverage on ITV is very shoddy. So all in all well done to Sky once again for taking most of the bloody coverage, whilst also posting a big damn price tag on the coverage. Not being funny but do they really need to charge £35 is it a month just for sky sports???No, they could easily charge 10 to 15 pound and they'd gain more customers. But then i suppose we live in that sorta world were the price of things are high. But it's a damn shame that SKy once again takes the bloody coverage to high priced subscription TV. They took the home test matches, they took the C&G, list goes on...But 10 matches will have to do...

Heard Tony Gubba commentating on the Watfart game last week in Zambia. Patronising about covers it perfectly.

Match of the Day is a complete bore these days.I like watching the Championship, Div 1 and Div2 goals - occasionally you get to see some English players score goals.
