Surely sackings are for underachievement? And is no-one here worried that if fans force out a manager who has won more games than he has lost and never had us finishing in the bottom half of the table then the BC job suddenly doesn't appeal to as many people? OK, OK this has all been in Division 2, but these are good indicators of a manager's performance. I wanna see players played in the correct position etc. as chances are they will play better football and the game I love to watch is more enjoyable. Does it really matter at any level beyond that? And to get the boss sacked for doing it?! I don't know whether to laugh or cry! Do you not feel the man should be congratulated for asking his players to do something they do not specialise in and still get them to grind out results? I work part time in a pub as a barman. When my boss asks me to give them a hand in the kitchen I don't start a protest, I get on with the job. Has anybody actually heard Roberts / Wilkshire etc. complaining? Matt Hill isn't really a full back but I haven't seen much in the way of complaint there and I can only conclude it is because he has had an above average to fairly good season. A simple progression of this thread suggests maybe the problem isn't with the manager?! I couldn't give a stuff if he stuck Peacock in goal to be honest, if we are in 3rd place and I bump into the BC manager in the street I will shake his hand and say thank you. The other dozen or so I have just read are on different subjects altogether. So we have no proof that you don't appear and disappear as you have only just appeared on this subject; if you get my drift? It will give DW another excuse to hang on and we'll go straight back down again. How anyone can say that he's done ok given that we're third is beyond me. This year this division is rubbish - there's no point comparing ourselves in terms of pure results against teams such as Wycombe. I think what we ought to be doing is comparing the potential for BCFC against what we have achieved. Then compare that to other teams. Particularly Argyle. Given the resources DW has had he's made a complete mess of it. Sure, we're third, which shows he gets it right some of the time, but we should be well into Div 1 by now.
