Looking At City's Results

Last season it was often pointed out that City were failing to beat most of the teams in the promotion race with them, yet were turning over "lower" teams without too much difficulty.

This season it seems to be the other way around.

Wins at Plymouth,Brighton,Hartlepool, draw away at QPR,wins at home against Swindon and QPR - all teams there or there abouts at the top.

But....defeats at Wycombe,Stockport,Oldham,Blackpool all teams in the lower half of the table.

Could it be that the players don't get psyched up enough for games against lower opposition? Wycombe away on a wet Tuesday night is hardly an attractive fixture whereas, Plymouth,Qpr and Brighton away are all "big games".

Maybe it wasn't co-incidence that one of City's best performances this season came last Saturday against QPR? A big game with a big crowd.Much easier to get "psyched up" for those type of games.

From now on in the last 6 games are all big games mostly against quality opposition and if my theory holds up City should win most them........

someone produced a table this time last year comparing year on year to see how many points we took from all teams...

eg

QPR 2002-3 0 points

QPR 2003-4 4 points

the thinking was we finished 3rd last time, so if we at least macth last years points against each team we will go up this...

Is there such a table around this year to compare with last?

Not sure if any of this makes sense?
