easton boy
Read my mind Easton Boy, doesnt seem a bad scoring record that. Like I said Badger, I, like probably everyone else on here, thought he is NOT a Prem striker and still do, but fair plays to the dude, he has got a gsa comparable to Shearer, Ian Wright Andy Cole etc!!!(NOT THAT HE COULD TIE ANY OF THEIR BOOT LACES TOGETHER) and all his goals have been scored at a Prem club. Also that is not to say he will gel into the Stoke set-up. Will he enjoy the stiff neck every Sunday morning from the hoofball played under tiny p

Let me guess......Trundle to come good and score a couple this Saturday Just to provide a bit of balance to what you are saying let's remember that Charlton "strengthened" their squad with Lita and Sinclair a couple of weeks ago. Result? Lita yet to score, Sinclair buggers off to Palace and Charlton out of the play off positions. Whilst we are making do with what we've got, we do happen to have a fit Steve Brooker for the first time in about 18 months - a definite improvement on both Byfield and Trundle in my view. It was the players who went to Laserquest. Are you trying to make something out of nothing? Johnson has always said he would not be using the loan system and he stands or falls by that decision. I would have liked to have seen a loan deal for a quality forward in January but presumably that is very easy to want and more difficult to arrange. garlicbread
Surely it takes a few games (i.e more than 6) for any player to settle into a team. These teams who get players in on 'emergeancy' loans, must be sending out a lack of confidence to the current players which must affect morale and loyalty. I'm starting to get a funny feeling that this is starting to play into our hands... The messiah might be proved right all along...possible masterstroke on the cards?? CMON CITY!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I know what you are getting at, but personally I don't think that a team bonding session is anything to be concerned about - as a matter of fact it may produce a positive effect. The players are tense enough as it is(Bloody hell i almost throw up every time I go to play cricket through nerves let alone playing in front of 19000), so if this helps them unwind then GREAT! Let the Laserquest continue!
BCAGFC
I personally would have jumped at the chance of having someone like Shola Ameobi in my SQUAD. Dele & Brooker to start with Ameobi to come on after an hour or so. LT23 & DB have had their chances and haven't exactly set the world alight to say the least YET, come on boys, GJ has backed you, now show us what we all know you BOTH can undoubtably do. Tunley Legend
We got a quality striker in jan...his name is Dele Adebola Imagine if we had also acquired a reasonably prolific goalscorer in January to play alongside Adebola, who I agree is a decent buy - the first Championship standard forward Johnson has brought to the club to be honest. Like I said in an earlier post we at least have a confident and fit Steve Brooker to stick in the team alongside Adebola now - let's hope he can get us those four or five goals we are going to need from him. Ameobi's a donkey at Premier League level but I've got a feeling this could be a very canny signing for Stoke. How they get away with flaunting the rules on these loans, I'll never know. I thought the transfer window shut at the end of January, not March. Looking at the strikers on their books how the heck Ameobi's signing could be considered an 'emergency', which is technically what this window is open for, is crazy IMHO. Also thought any one team couldn't loan more than 8 players in a season which surely they have by now...
