Antman
apart from the goalmouth, the pitch seemed in good nick. when we went on it after palace I was impressed with how thick the grass was. not like previous seasons 'visits' where it was a bit threadbare. I thought this season it was new, with that synthetic stuff woven in for durability maybe they're just relaying the goal area only? oh, and what happened to those sprinklers? WarksRed
was a new inovation in materials mix for pitches, as far as i'm aware at the time ours was the only pitch of this make up apart from Newcastle. . pitch make up is continually evolving, or it could be the drainage underneath was too effective and the pitch dried out to much, you saw the dust on top near the corner flag during the palace game. either way this pitch make up obviosly works, and hopefully the relaid one will be even better . BITW
don't we relay it every year anyway?
Guest DanC
The investment of relaying it is well worthwhile as we have one the best pitches there is. Such a contrast to Rovers
pdgifford64
With a Bon Jovi concert round the corner ? How curious. PDG
Mr Popodopolous
Thought it was a very good pitch anyway. I mean, in recent years on MOTD Chelsea's and Man Unites's, the two richest clubs in the land has been worse, and Wigan's as well donly more so due to rugby. chinapig
Stuart Pearce was very impressed when the U21's were there. When I walked on the hallowed turf last week I was amazed how good it was after a full season. Bound to get Groundsman of the year surely?
Mr Popodopolous
Nope we didn't win pitch of the year, I think Southampton won that.
