I paid on line for a holiday a few years ago, and the money never reached the holiday firm. I now use tried & tested technology. I write a cheque and post it. Works every time.

In America, once the NFL fixture list is announced it's "set in stone".The authorities state that the game is part of the entertainment sphere. Fans will have bought tickets and made travel arrangements, so the game must go on. That's why over there, game go ahead despite torrential rain, heavy snow and large injury lists. There was a NFL game a few months back when home fans were asking "Who's he" as due to injuries their club had fielded the 4th or 5th choice player in one position.

Looking at the rail atlas, an anomaly there. Burnley & Blackburn should cost the same. Huddersfield is further away than Blackpool, but costs less. The £2,178 figure could be reduced though if you "split ticket" your journey. Take a chance on weather disruptions and match day amendments due to TV coverage and buy tickets in advance,

Just the thing to introduce to today's snowflake kids.

I was at Redcliffe 1966 - 72. We played rugby as that was "more of a team game". Anyone not waning to play was sent on a cross country run. "Can't play Sir, I've got a cold". "The best thing for that is to run around outside, have a shower and then a rub down with a thick towel"

In an ideal world, at the end of England v Scotland in Euro 96, the ground would have opened up and swallowed Gazza. He would then forever be remembered for all the right reasons. In the dying moments of the semi v Germany, if his leg had been just a few inches longer, he would have connected with that cross and put England in the Final. There sis a clip somewhere on youtube of Gazza playing alongside our Brian Tinnion when they were clubmates.

https://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/carabao-cup-1st-round-bristol-city-h.143360/ You’d hope Palmer would be up for it at least. Don't mind that draw to be honest. Home game, winnable (if we want it). Sooner play a team that will bring a few fans than against a lower league side where there is no atmosphere.

An enjoyable read. Look at the spectators in the cover photo; no sitting in neat rows and simply applauding politely at the end.

Why? They're coming for us............................................................................ aren't they??

Today's "Prem stars" would never cope with pitches like that week in, week, out.

Summer 1993; Osman only made four signings that summer. Liam Robinson came from Bury for £130,000 and Hearts sold Ian Baird for £295,000. Ian Brown and Dave Martin were free transfers from Chelmsford and Southend. The one departure was Terry Connor who was released.
-
Yes and unlike their male counterparts, the England women passed to team mates!
-
Nothing new; 30 years ago we signed a goalie on a free transfer from Chelmsford City.

I remember the first weekend of the Prem. The managers of the two teams playing on the Monday night both said it didn't feel right. "The others are playing and we're sitting around". Everton v Chelsea and Fulham v Liverpool is pleasing to me. The fixtures used to be arranged so that if Arsenal were home to a Manchester team, Spurs would be away to the other and other pairings would be made.

England put out eleven talented players. Hungary fielded a team that compliments and works together. When England attack, it's against a mass of opponents. When Hungary attack we have two or three defending. When England had a shot in the 50th minute, there was a City flag behind the goal.

OK, it's started, but like many people on here (?), I'm not that gripped by it. The Hungarians have parked Dibusz in front of the goal.
