  1. Think back to November when FGR beat them 2-0; one of the posts on their forum was "Village pub teams shouldn't be allowed n the League" ?
  2. The British Transport Police have called for their reintroduction to keep football fans off "normal" trains. For the history buffs, for the 1909 Cup Final, in addition to normal trains, the GWR ran eighteen excursions. When City had Leeds away in a 60's cup match, BR ran several excursions. In addition Harry Doman chartered the Blue Pullman, named it "The Director's Special" and charged extra to travel in it, but he still filled it. 1971/72 I went on one to Charlton. I'm still intrigued as to how the train bypassed Paddington and took us to Charlton station in South East London. Earlier that season went to Swindon. For that one my Mum prepared some food to take including a jelly in a glass jar. I ate that shortly before kick off and then had a problem; Standing on a terrace at Swindon, how should I dispose of this glass jar? The excursions I travelled on were normal compartment stock and neither had any broken toilets, smashed windows or unruly passengers. That Disco Train some have mentioned was "The League Liner". BR & The Football League got together and converted one set of carriages into a dedicated football fan's train. There was only the one though and clubs had to book it in advance. Ipswich had "The Blue Arrow" taking their fans to every away game for several seasons. On it youl'd hear interviews with the Manager and players etc piped through to each compartment.
  3. The season is nearly over, so I looked back at what was said eight months ago. Well done @Daored; Relegated: Derby, Peterborough & Huddersfield (2/3 right) and City can’t see us currently having the fire power for top half , 15th. If it hadn't been for that late goal conceded in the first game, City would be above Blackpool with every chance of 15th. Well done too @Jerseybean; Championship 1 Fulham 2 Bournemouth @Hampshire Red More likely 18-13th IMO and rarely flirting with relegation enough for calls on here for 'Taxi for NP'
  4. I've now found a link to their forum that works. https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/39560-derby-county-vs-bristol-city-matchday-thread-saturday-3pm-kick-off/ The match day thread is already four pages long. Some are posting to say how proud they are of their team, others just being rude about not just City, but even Bristol as a whole. This season has been one of, if not, the best in my 27 years as a ST holder. The bond built between the club and the fans is unbelievable. Apparently, there's only one team in Bristol, but I have to ask : would anyone outside of Bristol notice if there were no teams in Bristol?
  5. I tried looking at their fan's forum and was greeted with;
  6. In his book "Parallel Lines" Ian Marchant states "Take private and official cars away from MPs, Town Councillors and the Directors of bus train companies. Public transport in this country would improve overnight".
  7. H'field is a rail junction with direct services from Sheffield to the South, Manchester from the West and Leeds from the East.
  8. "Return of the Mac" - I thought you meant this;
  9. As posted earlier this week, that was City's 3,000th goal at "Tier 2" level. I was impressed by how CM managed to get into empty space for that goal.
  10. Your wish was granted! ?
  11. Before kick off, the "studio experts" informed us of the danger from Chris Martin Watching the game it appeared for the first half hour that CM wasn't good enough at this level, then on 38 minutes he put through a very good pass to start an attack. On the whole Sheffield appear to have omitted their shooting boots whereas City struggle passing to a team mate. Interesting before the game to hear Neil Warnock state how he liked Andy W and watched him several times. During the half time chat will Dan B be praised for his initiative, or be instructed to stay nearer his goal?
  12. Wow; their forum has several threads; on one, someone hopes Sean Dyche is their next manager. Someone else mentions City haven't had back to back wins, but then along come The Blades. https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/bristol-city-v-sheffield-united-18th-april-2022.90610/ https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/pre-match-view-from-bristol-city.90604/ https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/fallowfields-team-to-go-bonkers-at-brizzle.90605/ https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/memries-of-bristol-city.90606/
  13. Couldn't find a thread about this game on here. According to one news paper, "Metro" many Barcelona fans walked out when Frankfurt fans arrived in large numbers and "took over" the ground. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/barcelona-fans-leave-camp-nou-26717562 And Barca were forced to play the first 10 minutes after the break without their most vocal supporters, with thousands not returning to their seats behind the goal. The section of fans, known as Grada d’Animacion took in the opening minutes of the second period from within the confines of the stadium, in protest at the Frankfurt invasion of the Catalan giants’ stadium. What's the Catalan for "You'll never take the East End"!
  14. In recent times we've had threads on here regarding City's fattest, or thinnest, shortest or tallest player. Following Dan Bentley's altercation at Stoke which City player would you not want to fight with? To start the ball rolling; Enoch Shounmi followed by Fammi. Given their upper body strength John Galley and Mike Gibson would also be wise to avoid.
  15. Blackburn thought they were there for taking. ?

    City's next goal

    Thanks for correcting me. 111 seasons in the league and this is our 54th at Tier 2 level.
  17. City have been in "Tier2" of the League for 111 seasons and have now scored 2,999 goals at this level. Extra loud cheer for number 3,000? ?
  18. No red cards today; the game must have been really drab with not a single incident to bother him.
  19. https://boards.footymad.net/showthread.php?t=38289221 We peaked at 7th thanks to Sean who did an amazing job with relatively little backing. I wonder where we will bottom out? I'm surprised too given the length of his outstanding contract, must have cost them a bit. I thought they'd give him a chance to bounce us back like last time.
  20. What struck me was that news filtered out slowly. On the radio "Kick off is delayed due to a disturbance in the crowd" Whereas TV was showing what was happening. I also remember that on the Monday morning at work, no one mentioned it, I think due more to shock than apathy.
  21. Their match day thread is already two pages long.https://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/304168/stoke-city-bristol A bit of discussion not about the game but which of their players will go in the Summer. However; Funny team Bristol City are and I think they sum up the championship because on their day they’ve had some decent results this season but they’re very inconsistent.Won here on their last 3 visits also? Brizzle have sold 750 tickets. 20,500 today I reckon.........
