Don't worry, he'll be fine. Footballers are pragmatic. Although they will aim to maximise earnings and on field success, most of them realise that one is more easily obtained than the other. (Not that either are 'easily obtained' in its true sense.) If club success doesn't come, but you've done well personally, you might get a move further up the ladder in a couple of years. However, the club would be considering how desperate he was to leave in this window (I think he wanted to go), and the risk of his value decreasing over the season. In this case we'd likely have got 'value on the pitch' if we kept him provided he remained committed to us mentally.

You wouldn't necessarily need that. Maybe a memo from his reporting line could make disclosure a breach of contract, and keep him gagged. But if they wanted to try and put the frighteners on him they may have trouble getting him to agree to an NDA.

There's nothing inherently wrong with Arabs. The problem with is the source of the money. If it's going to be effective State sponsorship, then it's a hard 'no thanks' from me. If the money comes from anywhere else (but where would that be) then I'd do my due diligence before boycotting matches.

When he's doing the business at our level we'll see that he's good enough for it. But even that is beside the point, because, for whatever reason, he seemed to be in conflict with NP for most of his time here. When that happens, it doesn't matter how good you are, you'll be out on your arsenal (most of the time, occasionally it will be the manager that gets booted).
