  1. Thanks for the summary. I switched RB off as soon as JB came on.
  2. I might venture on to gaschat in case there is a stream available for today's game. Obviously I just want to see what we'll not be up against next season.
  3. It is a cheap knock off. Although it might be better than the real thing.
  4. If it was directly a football related issue then I'm sure it would be reported to the fans/press per every other injury. But for anything else, i.e. illness, I guess standard employee/employer confidentiality applies, and Ross doesn't want everyone and his mother knowing what the problem is. I suppose all that City can do is to report how long they expect him to be out for when they know, unless he gives them permission to disclose further details.

Agreed, I was just highlighting the extremes. I was there for the Wimbledon game, but not the Liverpool one (which happened before I was allowed to go to the football).
  6. Hum. As a ST holder, I just wouldn't pay the matchday price (excepting special games eg man City last year), so I'm sure casual fans are put off to an extent. Maybe they should look at the matchday price hikes in percentage terms, and agree to make them not more than 20% higher than a s/t price. But that might squeeze member prices and make them less valuable. I guess that they'd ramp up the base s/t price if they were going to do this. Everyone’s a lower Rodney.
  7. Would it not self destruct at some point, making it worth millions more?

Of course. Look up what happened last time we got relegated from the top flight. Lots of people seemed to forget how to get to Ashton gate. From 33k+ v Liverpool to 4k v Wimbledon in 6 years. Wonderful.

They're expanding for the corporate money. Liverpool for example, current only sell 26k season tickets, because they can make far more selling memberships and balloting for much higher matchday ticket prices. When we get promoted I'm sure city will try to do the same i.e. eak out as much revenue per seat as they can. Expect one season at reasonable prices and if we stay up expect to be pumped.
  10. Yes. Is anyone going to see them in the Hen and Chicken or the Rising Sun? No, not unless there's another fans forum organised.
  11. The more I think back to Steve Coppell walking out on us, the bigger a red flag I see.
  12. My nightmare scenario is that we end the season newly managerless, with no preparation made for a replacement manager. Temporarily appoint one of the coaches, who isn't able to make any signings (as we don't know what the new gaffer wants), interview a few likely candidates by end of next August, before our CEO utters those immortal words ...
  13. They say the same about you. At least I think they do.
  14. Sad, but I just remembered that when I was a lad, I used to religiously count the number of opposition players starting the second halves of games, just in case they were trying to stick an extra one on. I still do a count mid game now if I get bored.
  15. Is anyone daft enough to 'invest' a minority stake in a football club that loses £20m a year? Debatable. They would have zero influence on how the club was run, and I don't think even I would go for that. But if Jon let them design the kits .... yeah, bugger it let's do this.
  16. Re the not scanning, did yours work ok v PNE? I wonder if some of the readers need a stronger signal or are misaligned slightly. Because it took forever for mine to trigger v PNE. I changed turnstile v Brum, and it worked perfectly first time.
  17. As others have said, I don’t see that SL wants to renew NP's contract. Neither do I think NP particularly enjoys losing his best players with the expectation of league one replacements if he's lucky. So, he'll likely be gone by the end of the season, and I think if he isn't backed to sign a couple of decent players in the next 10 days, he might want to to jack it in early. And I don't see SL standing in his way.
  18. Won't Naismith have to come in as Centre back with Dickie being suspended? ed: or do we see Pring being moved accross?
  19. Utterly depressing seeing that again. Not sure why Tanner didn't get booked when he belted the ball away after he miscontrolled it out of touch in the second half. He certainly deserved it. But I guess the ref was like 'wtf is he doing trying to waste time when they are losing ...'
  20. C'mon Fordy, the first home defeat of the season always gets massive negative reaction. In a couple of months we'll be so used to them that there will next to no comment on the matchday thread, apart from 'standard'.
