  1. Maybe, but it's all relative. The Championship must be the most financially unviable competition in English (possibly European/World) football, where practically all the clubs fail on a going concern basis, and would face being wound up under normal business practices.
  2. I've just renewed the annual subscription at the early bird pricing, however RobinsTV/Streamamg have managed to process two subscriptions payments (at exactly the same time), which is impossible to force manually, at least without running through the payment process twice. Unfortunately there's no opportunity to trap it before authorising on paypal as the streamamg charges always show up as £1 (not £140, or £280 in this case). I've actually had this exact issue twice before with streamamg payments, but for matchday passes. A refund through Plymouth's streaming tv service was handled efficiently, but the one through RobinsTV wasn't. Interested to see if anyone else has suffered this problem.
  3. Just a heads up, and a question for anyone with an auto-renewing RobinsTV annual sub. My renewal price showed '£170 due on 31 July 2023', so I've just logged on and cancelled it. I will repurchase at the 'earlybird' price of £140 in a couple of days, when I'm sure I haven't been charged for a renewal (I shouldn't be, as it's no longer showing). I did exactly the same last year (it was the same deal). It's a bit of a PITA cancelling and restarting, so I'm wondering if anyone else in a similar position (this year or last), and have just let the renewal run through, can tell me what they actually got charged? Cheers.
  4. I had next to no problems last season streaming away games from France*. Maybe in this case the issues were at your end/your 'airline'? (*Sorry, 'France'.)
  5. If the price goes down, doubtless many will be phoning GT to complain. And Geoff would be all like 'how did you get my number?'
  6. This is something that's not going to happen, so dont worry. But any contract should (and we'll repeat that, should) be robust enough that it is clear what happens. However the more complicated its made, the more likely unintentional loopholes, different interpretations, etc, get made ...
  7. It was only the first leg, and only by the odd goal. They need to calm down a bit.
  8. I'm sure sky would back the superleague, and to hell with the rest of you. Maybe the PL would be panicked into organising a PL 1 and 2, with it organised so we miss out, in an attempt to retain some valuable tv rights.
  9. I couldn't wear anything with splat robin or 'city' on it. The only thing I can see that I like is the coaches poly although it's a bit too pricey (£45) and a bit too smart casual
  10. There has been lots of film lighting, catering, etc lorries/buses/trailers parked in the Church Lodge car park at Ashton Court for a while now. In fact there has been something there on and off for the past couple of years. I saw a few of (pressumably) their crew/lighting a couple of miles away in the Forestry Commission car park on Weir Lane (by the golf course) several weeks ago. Anyone any idea on what these lot are filming?
  11. You've jogged my memory - that's it.
  12. My mates dad owned the sports shop in there. He was also heavily involved with Bristol Cycle Speedway, who I think had their track at Whitchurch/Hengrove.
  13. I'd be very upset if he went to another Championship side. Even if it might be one that was 50:50 to go back up.
  14. You just reminded me of Dennis Pennis and OJ Simpson.
  15. No one here has ever done it? Or has to pretend they are very good at it, depending on whose overlooking their internet activity.
  16. Don't leave us hanging. What's gone wrong?
  17. Yep. I was on the bus a couple of times. Their last few games were at the gate - I think is a league requirement to play x games at a proper ground.
  18. I think the gantry is scaffold but it has been up all last season - remember it was streaming some of the women’s games. They made a decision not to broadcast the u21s last season, but you could get a ticket if you were a season card holder. I doubt anything will be changing this season, even with the gantry being there - they video the games anyway, probably for development purposes, and will probably put highlights online.
  19. No preseason game is going to prepare you for a league game, simply because there is nothing riding on it. I like the way we've gone about things. It gives us a chance to get our patterns of plays sorted out if nothing else. And to see who works with who etc. By all means change it up when you,'re in charge. Or at least wait till the first few games of the season when you can claim that 'a competitive preseason' would've meant a better start ...
  20. I think that is a simply down to their coding, and an F5 refresh will correct it.
  21. The Monday night show was 'Sound of the City'. Unless Paul Weller is hosting, I see no reason for a name change
  22. Yep. You only pull someone out of your plans when you're dotting your t's and crossing your i's on the deal. Otherwise you're in a weak negotiating position. And then what happens when you don't get an increased bid and the start of the season rolls around?
