Alex Scott - £25m to Bournemouth- Confirmed
Sleepy1968 replied to SinéadB's topic in All Things Ex Players and Managers
They might decide to open the betting if there's a chance they are interested. Someone has too - do they not realise we're at 38 pages ATM: we'll pass the Joe Bryan thread post count soon if we aren't careful. -
I won't sub again because it's too expensive. But I won't hold criminal enterprises up as the saviour of Football fans, although I'd go illegal for a city stream if I had to. The EPL have much to answer for as they are the ones that hold Sky to ransom, and Sky's operating model depends on landing PL rights. The only way there is a major reset is when Sky go bust and no-one is prepared to pay ridiculous amounts for the PL rights. But with Amazon and Apple sniffing around I don't see things getting that much better.

The Office (UK): Ipswich Town edition
Sleepy1968 replied to LondonBristolian's topic in Football Chat
I hope its near the end of the season because I don't think I will be able to control my gestures or language when it comes to Ashton. Thinking about it, the sweet spot will be just before season ticket renewals go live. -
I've only seen the last 10 mins. I guess we've practically 'won', it's humid, etc. But boy I've seen more clinical fake doctors. If it gets any more boring I'm going back to true crime on YouTube.

Can I just say that the twitter commentator price range is beginning to inflate exponentially, so Spurs better get a move on unless they are happy paying over 40M rumour mill pounds. -
More and more people are realising what a player TC is becoming. Quality. BTW don't see this listed on the beeb website. Do you know what time is this starting? Is it online/ streamed do you know?

Like you I missed it , but heard it on the radio. The Kick Off show has been sponsored by 'Big Cola' for several years, hence the completely OTT US sh1t show that took place. We're just lucky that they haven't invented a Half Time show like the Superball yet.

Hmm. There is no proper pavement if you walk the direct route alongside the bypass to Ashton Bridge. It is navigatable single file with careful avoidance of a bit of street furniture. It could be upgraded if there was enough will. The route via the M2 metro path is safe but will take longer. When the new houses are built, I wonder if the will be able to extend an access route through the trading estate?

Remember his Sunday morning programme, where he was training young footballers? I also remember 'Fishing with Jack Charlton'. I think.

That's true, but it occasionally slams into your face before it bounces back wide open. -
That's who the bloke showing the new recruits around is. Been bugging me that I keep seeing him, but not knowing who he was.

I knew Dave's boys, Matt & Kev, pretty well growing up. I was in the same year as Matt at school, and Kev was in the year above. Dave was always on hand to drop us off for ? when we fished for Silver Dace juniors. I think Kev played for Raleigh. And I'm sure he told me a story about making Julian Dicks cry in a game once. My younger brother played for Raleigh in the lower age groups. He scored a lot of goals, but I think that's because he was a goal moocher. I don't know the origins of Raleigh Sports, but remember that Grantley Sulley managed one of the Raleigh sides at the time. I walk past the Clanage most days now. I think half of it must have been sold off years ago because the cricket club now play where the footy pitches used to be, and the nursery & car boot take up the rest of the site.

He used to sit in the Grandstand and do the half time draws occasionally when we were in the 3rd or 4th division. I remember him always in his suit and with brylcreemed hair. Wish I'd seen him play. Absolute travesty that the England selectors didn't see fit to include him in the world cup squad especially when he scored the goal that got us through the qualifiers.
-
I think we might have scored one but maybe that's wishful thinking. The bloke has the shortest long throw I've ever seen. When I watched the city women v Liverpool the season before last, one of the Liverpool players had one of the best long throws I've ever seen.

A dog peeing on a lamppost would upstage that.

Thanks for keeping us abreast of that Major.

That gets a 1/5 for entertainment value. Minority of embarrassing morons following West Ham.

Either we are calling Zak's bluff (and maybe vice versa), or think we can recruit a replacement and get him off the books this summer for a decent wedge. I wonder what we offered him given that historically home-grown talent is significantly underpaid verses externally recruited players? I'm fine with things if we are keeping to our new wage structure (whatever that is), so overperforming 'underpaid' players will need to look elsewhere for the big payday.

No Stroud on your list? We might not like some of the referees (with good reason), but I'm sure the quality decreases as you go down the pool. So the less refs available, the worse they'll collectively get. And could the problem have got worse over the last few years as some of the referees have been assigned to VAR instead of reffing games? What happens when ChatGPT or google BART AIs get assigned to referee our games? I mean, we'll probably get more pens, but I'm sure there's going to be a downside.

Okay, sorry. Pressumably it's not something that the collective wit of forum RobinsTV users could try to answer? (If we haven't tried before?)
