  1. Not necessarily. Maybe his pre match presser rubbed people up the wrong way. BT and JL may feel that Hines and Cisse can manage for the remaining five weeks of this vigorous search.
  2. Hope everyone within earshot of JL today let’s him know how they feel.
  3. I can’t get past it. Why would you admit that? The FIRST time they’ve known what they’re looking for. And half the rumoured candidates don’t fit the bill…
  4. If it’s him, I’m happy with that choice from the bunch of names mentioned.
  5. If Mark Robins becomes available, SL won’t be able to contain himself. He’ll be in within an hour and given a warchest. Then watch NP go to Coventry and beat us in the playoff final.
  6. No punctuation, typos… Tinman, is that you?
  7. Sent in my contribution. You only get 10 seconds though Mine was basically “thanks Nige and no to Nathan Jones” Don’t live in the Points West area, so doubt I’ll know if I get on unless my dad sees me.
  8. Can see why people say that given the QPR disaster. I live near Wycombe, though, and saw how he shaped an unfashionable club with no budget to compete at levels at which they’d never before achieved. There’s a manager and a leader in there, and he’s always intrigued me as an option at City. Not sure anyone can make it work at QPR at the moment.
  9. People say it’s not an inspiring list, but I’d actually accept any of Rowett, Eustace, Beale, Warnock or even Ainsworth. Not Jones, though. Forget him. But the others have something intriguing about them that could fit at this club. Cotterill was not an inspiring signing, but he clicked with City. I could see any of the five I mentioned doing the same. It’s about providing an environment in which they can succeed and things clicking. I would be against Jones, as I can’t see him ever winning the fans over given his attitude and arrogance. Pulis 2.0 Nigel Pearson, however, is a cut above all of them and a different class of manager. Sometimes, though, the fit and connection between manager, ownership, players and the fans is more important. Cotts and early GJ are the only ones I’ve seen truly achieve this, and they’re, with respect, not necessarily the best managers the world has ever seen.
  10. Do you know what? I think I might be done with this club for a while. I live an hour and a half away, in Maidenhead, and the distance usually makes things easier to rationalise. But there’s nothing rational about this. What “recent results”? A 0-1 home defeat to an Ipswich side who’ve had the second best ever start to a Championship season, where we were probably worth a point? A 2-0 away defeat when we only had 12 fit players and had to name 2 GKs on the bench? Before that, we beat Coventry, Rotherham and Plymouth whilst losing to Leeds, Leicester and Stoke. Only the Stoke result can be considered as a surprise or disappointment. I’ve felt we’ve put up a fight in every game this season, despite being able to name a full eleven of injured players. The youngsters have been promoted in a way I’ve never seen before. The football clearly had a style and a plan, to be a high-pressing counter-attacking side. The wage bill had been cut. We’d performed well despite selling key players. The board could really not ask for anything more from a manager and they’ve been itching to do this for weeks. It stinks. I hope, for the club’s sake, there’s someone lined up and a decision is made in the next week or so. If there’s not one standout candidate, then at least a shortlist ready to go. Eustace, Rowett, Beale and even Ainsworth should be brought in for an interview, then take your pick from there. I fear they’ll make a run at Lansdown’s wet dream of Mark Robins. One last splash with him before SL sails into the distance.
  11. Never been so fuming at a decision. And to hide behind “recent results”. Jon Lansdown can… complete the sentence yourself as I don’t want to swear. It’s a disgrace.
  12. True. I meant away from the team sheet. By the time he’s back, a new manager could be well settled. If we had a plan to replace quickly.
  13. If he’s going to sack Nige (and I don’t want him to) now makes sense. I’d fancy us to be favoured to win in five of the next seven matches. James, likely to be one of NP’s biggest fans in the dressing room, is away from the team for a while. If they have someone lined up, then do it now. Otherwise, come out and back NP.
  14. Decent performance, but Ispwich always looked like they had a second gear. On another night, the two Dickie headers, the Conway header, Cornick’s shot, even the Conway free kick end up as 2 or 3 goals. But even if we’d scored, I’d have fancied Ipswich to get another. One of those games where a 2-2 draw may have been a fair result, but we came down on the wrong side of a few chances.
  15. For me, the acid test of a manager is whether they leave the club in a better position overall than when they found it. That includes finances, squad size, everything. Certainly true for NP. Can it be said about many others for the entirety of the club?
  16. I’m guessing he refers to our Technical Director, or as Tinnion himself spells in on LinkedIn, our Tecknical Director.
  17. Really annoyed by this. We’ve been crying out for a manager like NP for decades. Been supporting the club since Dennis Smith times. If I’m right, only Pearson, Coppell and Wilson (as managers and/or players) and Jordan (as a player) have had top flight experience. IMO that lack of know-how has been a major failing of the club for decades. We’ve been crying out for experience and people who have been there and done it. Now we have someone, who’s performed well in incredibly difficult circumstances and we’re letting it slip through our fingers. It’s so frustrating and screams of ownership who are not comfortable in their positions and want to be more involved than they should be.
  18. Disgrace. Why can’t we listen in the background anymore as well since their “update”? ??
  19. No option to listen in the background though. You have to be on that app page for the audio to work. Useless.
